Microsoft just can't get the start menu right!

P1X3

Mini rant of mine. Windows 7 start menu was good. Click on start, and look for a program.

Windows 8 was as bit of a paint because searching for a program with a mouse was annoying.

Luckily there was a search option, which i never used in windows 7.

So I got used to a habit of pressing windows on keyboard and starting typing the name of a program I need.

Almost always I have got what I needed. This was nice because it (habbit) was useful on windows 7 too.

Windows 8.1 is no different than 8, so I kept using Windows key and start typing method.

Now comes Windows 10 insider preview. New start is nice, but by now I am used to searching for a program.

Luckily it worked through out insider preview like I expected it to. But then the dark times. The release.

Ever since the release, the search is just crap. I have sql server management installed.

On windows 7, 8, or 8.1 I can easily get to it by pressing windows key and typing sql.

Boom! First item in the list. On windows 10, not a chance. Instead there is a web search which is not what I need.

Settings comes to the rescue, with couple clicks web search for start is disabled, but wait.

The item that I need is not showing up. What is up microsoft?! Why must you brake everything.

Yes, they have some bugs to fix that people don't like, and yes, thay should not have invited people to "upgrade" this early, and YES, there are the occasional freezes and broken things, but really? a rant for win 10? We've had enough to know all the problems by now :) no offense, but people here ase sick of these threads and it won't go down well with most.

I wasn't bitching about Windows 10 because everything was perfect. Until whatever update made this stupid search broken.

Instead of looking or asking if there is a solution you are just "bitching" (as stated before) over what seems an issue for you. If the Start Menu opens and displays everything else its fine if the Search Index is not indexing the apps and files on your PC then its the index or Cortana's service. There are a few solutions out there maybe start there, here is one to try
