[POLL] How many of you have a skylake CPU?

Seeing as Intel's newest 14nm manufacturing process isn't yielding as much as it should, I decided to try and find out how many on this forum manged to get their hands on the new CPU's.

Spoiler

Case Bitfenix Ghost, Mobo Asus Maximus VIII Ranger, CPU i7 6700K @4.2 Ghz cooled by Arctic cooling Freezer i30, (barely). GPU Nvidia GTX 970 Gigabyte G1 @1519Mhz core, RAM 16Gb Crucial Ballistix CL16 @2400Mhz. SSD 128GB Sandisk Ultra Plus as my OS drive. HDD's  1TB  Seagate ST31000524AS its OEM, 3TB Seagate Barracuda, 2x 500GB WDC Blue (RAID 0)

If it isn't working absolutely perfectly, according to all your assumptions, it is broken.

How would you participate in this poll if you don't have a CPU! How would you even be on this site!

First yes vote. :) 6600K here.

I ordered mine in the U.S. from Newegg. They initially said it was a pre-order that wouldn't ship until 8/14, but it shipped immediately and I had it in-hand by the 13th. I've heard the 6700K is a lot harder to get.

How? On your phone? Because your phone has a CPU.

And I doubt many people here joined on their school/work/library PC.

I made that third option that way on purpose, people with CPU's other than skylake shouldn't touch the poll you see!!

It's a trick!!

I don't own one now, but in about a month or so I will pick up an i7-6700K along with an Asus Hero board.

I will also be getting a 6700K, no idea how long it is going to take for it to arrive, probably like half a year.

Should I have added options for those who are expecting one to come?

They could've joined the sight before they built their own PC, or they could have an APU.

GET OUT!!

No turnips allowed on my poll, it is a well managed and well maintained poll that accepts no turnips!

Yesterday i got my 6700k, it's really easy to get them in Latvia (like 350 euros), but it's quite hard to get z170 mobos, in all Latvia in stock are some cheap ones with ddr3 or with no usb 3.1/Usb-c. I'm looking forward to testing it.

Too bad my Z170 motherboard is being held up so I can't do anything with it yet.

I could have opted to go with the 6600K too, but decided that I wanted a 6700k, my mobo has been reserved but I am still waiting for RAM and the CPU.

The site I am buying from says that my RAM will come (to their shop, not to me) on 23.8, the CPU however doesn't even have an arrival estimate...

I bet it's going to take several months for that to come, considering how this is Finland. And computer tech hates Finland.

The 6600K however is a different story, that they have tons of, they have 25+ at the shop, and 25+ coming in...

Looking at building a skylake rig later this year but at the moment in au the price is pushing me to look at haswell-e thankfully this build will be a few months off yet so I'll get time to decide if I want the z170 chipset enough.

I don't know about months, I'm in Finland too and I got the 6700K but the stores do have pretty bad supply. Got in on an early shipment I guess. Supply is pretty tight on most DDR4 too, but my mobo is coming from Germany and the estimated delivery has been delayed three times now. I guess the MSI Titanium Edition board is really hard to get atm since no store in Finland even lists it and it's taking it's sweet time abroad.

They might be able to use lots of "bad" i7 chips for the i5 which could explain the plentiful supply of 6600K's.

And I decided on a Asus Maximus VIII Ranger (IIRC), that thing is already reserved according to jimm's. The other 2 things like 16GB of Hyper X and the 6700K are still making me wait...

It's is quite a bit annoying, and especially bad for me since I decided to jump the gun and sell the RAM, mobo and CPU in my sig. Just so I could afford the 6700K instead of the 6600K... I bet that I will get a new PSU shipped to me before those 3 come to me. And I need to wait for my employer to pay me before I can get that new PSU.
