I'll stick with my 6300 until I see something worth spending $300+ Skylake was not all that impressing to me.

A shadowy flight into the dangerous world of a man who does not exist.

Your lack of faith in turnips is disturbing . And probably not for a long time. I don't render, don't hold servers, till games require multi threading or simply more horses than my current cpu can give I belive my 4670k shall suffice.

That's because there is little improvements over its predecessors. We'll have to wait for Zen to see if it's impressive. The impressive things in tech was the when Intel introduced its core 2 duo and nvidia with its 8800gt.

Intel Xeon E5 1650 v3 @ 3.5GHz 6C:12T / CM212 Evo / Asus X99 Deluxe / 16GB (4x4GB) DDR4 3000 Trident-Z / Samsung 850 Pro 256GB / Intel 335 240GB / WD Red 2 & 3TB / Antec 850w / RTX 2070 / Win10 Pro x64

HP Envy X360 15: Intel Core i5 8250U @ 1.6GHz 4C:8T / 8GB DDR4 / Intel UHD620 + Nvidia GeForce MX150 4GB / Intel 120GB SSD / Win10 Pro x64

HP Envy x360 BP series Intel 8th gen

AMD ThreadRipper 2!

5820K & 6800K 3-way SLI mobo support list

Zen is predicted to perform at around the level of Haswell, so why would you wait for it?

Im OK with skylake, no gamechanger but honestly alot more improvements then expected. Older gens had similar performance increases but without changing system Standards. So we've got our low performance boost + high igpu boost from haswell + ddr4 + m.2 support + 20board pci-e lanes + bclk oc and alot of other cool z170 board specific features. And all this with less power consumption and smaller architecture. Thats quite alot. Its sad skylake isnt easy capable of 5ghz oc's and that it isnt soldered but besides that its pretty cool. I cant really understand the hate against it. Massive shitstorm happened on ltt for no good reasons...
