I can totally see the market for VR sports games, once VR becomes so casual and cheap that everyone has it.  But that won't be for a long time.  And it would have to be more of an augmented reality, so you can watch the game with your friends.  Who wants to have a VR sports experience where you sit alone in a stadium watching people you can't interact with?  Are people going to have superbowl parties where everyone comes over and sits around with their VR headsets on, not looking at each other?  VR will have to come a long way with interacting with people physically there with you and people elsewhere before it would even be considered for the mainstream.  And it will have to be super cheap, the cost of 3D glasses really put a damper on everyone's 3D hype.

 

Granted, by 2025 all these things are likely to be possible, but even still, I can't see VR NFL (and only NFL) being bigger than porn.  The VR geeks are going to push VR to the absolute limits.  Look at the current batch of sex toys being developed, in 10 years they will be way better and more interactive.  Sports are the great cost equalizer, all you need is a TV and a whole ton of people can come over and watch and enjoy.  But if you have to buy a $100 (who knows future prices) headset for everyone to be able to watch the game, that will put a damper on things.
