Tech Confession Time!

rustikles

I don't have anything in a desktop above a G2120 (dual core pentium).  And those are in our servers.

The G2120 are Ivy Bridge though, so...   yeah.

I do have a nearly 4 yr old Dell Precision laptop with a first gen i7 920xm.

I have not built a gaming machine... yet.

*edit:  I still have an unistalled copy of Vista Ultimate sitting on my desk in its packaging.  Not sure if that is shameful or not.

my I/O shield doesn't fit properly and i intentionally bend one of the I/O shield alluminium so it won't bend out.

Did this on my last 2 PC.

Didn't get 7850 instead I Choose MSI GTX660.

Bought HP Laptop (60 degrees Idle in 30 degrees ambient room temp, Bad screen) which is very expensive.

Uses 5 years old Razer mouse (Broke wheel click)  and keyboard (Broke F11 button Mended it myself)... and mousepad (broke on of the feed, Smells bad, Rarely cleaned it)...

Oh yeah and Razer in-ear earbuds (morray+) (Cable about to snap).

Lesson learned.

Got a HP laptop too and I got the same situation as you ;( after nearly 3 years of struggling with it, finally got a decent PC (specs in my sig)

Which one did you get?

I Hope I can fix the temps by bringing it to HP center. I can't open my laptop, Removed all screw but hard to open.

HP dv6-6009tx if I'm not wrong. Kinda old.

Idles @ around 50-60, Load @ around 80-90 [CPU temps]

Even after reapply the paste and changing the mobo once the temps just stays the same

I owned a DV6-6001TX and that temperature is normal to me.    Turn off TurboBoost if you want to drop a few degrees.

I made the power settings on balanced (setting CPU usage from 5-100% do help abit too). Don't need my laptop to do any work now :)

You don't.

Simply laugh at yourself a a bit and laugh harder at those who got 780's and titans for minecraft or league of legends.

my confession is i liked windows vista and i never understood why people hated it because i never had problems

and something i did before was build a pc then put it beside my desk and when i pressed the button it would not work so i sat there for an hour trying to figure out why it would not turn on.....then i realized i forgot to plug all the cables into the back....that was NOT one of my best days

I still need to get around throwing cash at 3 IPS panels--1 1440p in landscape and 2 side 1080p's in portrait.
