So my friend tried to build a PC... I Brad-a-fied it.

900x900px-LL-b7130c9b_dM26D.jpg

No offence, but colorblind people shouldn't build PC's.

What the hell is that thing?!

I'm lucky enough that my friends actually listen to my technical advice and therefore upgrade even better than I did sometimes T_T

on a side note, I'm using an old handle case that doesn't even support cable management yet lol so inside my case looks like a crows nest. I could care less though as I made sure all cables are secure and the case is only opened for maintenance or testing of others components / creating backups.

My cousin was helping a friend build a micro atx system. The friend wanted the PSU fan facing up, and in a micro atx system with the GPU fan facing down, thats not a good idea. In the end they were about an inch away from each other, and they were both pulling air in. I guess that they some how canceled each other out and his GPU overheated and broke, but he sent it back and they gave him a new one.

CPU: Phenom II X4 965. GPU: Sapphire Vapor-X 7770. MoBo: AsRock 970 Extreme3. Ram: Corsair Vengeance 8gb 1600. PSU: Antec BP550. HDD: 1tb Seagate Case: RoseWill Challenger. CPU Fan: Arctic Freezer 7 Pro Rev 2. Monitor: Some crap gateway 1650x1050.

Usb 3 pass-through for front panel. It's a poor design choice, though a few cases have it.

I believe you can use an adapter to have it run off the internal header instead.

Unfortunately didn't come with the case, and I didn't have one handy :P It doesn't look to bad now that I routed it behind the mobo tray ;)

Doesn't matter that the one you'd have built would likely also have had 8GB RAM in it :/

Possibly even two 4GB sticks instead of a mis-match of whatever 1, 2, 3 and 4 GB sticks were lying around in the factory warehouse gathering dust.

Bumping/necro/Rev basically, you're bringing an old thread back. This forum has a no bump/necro for threads over 3 months. So if it's three months old, it's not to be posted in

So my mate I haven't seen in a long time puts in a special request. It's for building him a PC. I go 'Ok, I got this. What's your budget?'... and all the rest of that product selection crap etc.

So we decide on parts for this PC, I'm totally cool for it, he's a mate, so I'll do it for free ;)

Today he messages me on Facebook with pictures of the new PC assembled, that he built. Naturally I'm mad, so I say to him

He gets the message. He says he built it with a close friend who recently had his father pass away, and I would have left it there but he offered for me to come around and fix it up.

Naturally I said yes :)

This his PC after he built it:

Just bad cable management really.

It's not as bad as when a customer while I was on work experience didn't use any mobo standoffs and I had to fix it :P

And this Is After I fixed it up :)

GlaaODk.jpg

Got any n00b friends building their own PC stories?

Yeah looks totally better now, great cable management, i like it!

You would have had to of searched the depths of hell to find this thread. I see no reason why anyone who'd read the CoC in its entirety would have posted in it. Maybe make that top priority sometime today.
