RaspAP/OpenWRT alternative with multi-VLAN WiFi networks?

RaspAP currently doesn't support it, and OpenWRT seems to only support it on wired level only.

Is there a software for Raspberry Pi (with WebGUI) that supports that?

To clarify, I just need them to act as an access point that supports multiple SSIDs that can be tagged to specific VLANs.

I have OPNsense for DNS/DHCP/VLANs & managed L2 switches

By that you mean passing VLAN tags from WLAN clients? Never thought of that myself. You can do multiple SSIDs per VLAN though.

OpenWRT has a RPI image, doesnt that work for you?

Yup! that's what I meant.

Weird.  Unless I was looking at the wrong spot, I didn't see that

You have to configure VLANs in devices then create interfaces using the device you created. Then you simply connect an AP to the said interface. First half is the only part that is different than setting up a regular network with no vlans.

I know OpenWRT can be a dedicated router, but in this case, it won't be.  In my setup, the OpenWRT/Raspberry Pi will be just be an access point.

I have OPNsense for DHCP/DNS/VLAN, and layer 2 switch for tagging

This is the same. I just dont have managed switch and enough free ports on the AP, I just use one trunk for all my WLANs.

OpenWRT does no packet processing other than adding or removing VLAN tags.

Aah. Ok. I got confused when you said to plug the AP to the interface.  I was hoping for just 1 hardware that would do multiple SSIDs

I was hoping to be able to use my Pi for other things (i.e. AirPlay music player).

I also have a mini PC with 4c i5-6500T, and considered using a VM, but I think it may be too much for with a virtual interface.

I'm currently exploring all of my options, and would experiment when I get the time.

I just finished the wired component and testing things out before I put the family router in my network and convert it as an AP/switch.

I know UniFi network can do it. Not sure if that’s what you’re looking for though.

You can buy an AP that supports Multi SSID, I have a TP-LINK TL-WA1201 that supports up to 4 VLANs. Works for both 2.4Ghz and 5ghz..

This can be done on OpenWRT as mentioned above.  Although I doubt a RPi makes a good Access Point.

On my Devices tab I have:

image.png.f4768bdb2322213aa870486edac6c9cc.png

So I created Device br-lan.666 for the VLAN tags and a bridge called IoT.

image.png.74706f167df0d8ac2eb05d9a1a4379c3.png

On my Interfaces tab I created an unmanaged interface set to device IoT.

image.png.477c447c72210e5e2b895456fa1db8d7.png

I then set the Network on the WiFi SSID to IoT.

image.png.ece40fd5648b22360935e12b99c75331.png

So IoT is a bridge of VLAN 666 and the United Federation of Planets SSID.

Router:  Intel N100 (pfSense) WiFi6: Zyxel NWA210AX (1.7Gbit peak at 160Mhz)
WiFi5: Ubiquiti NanoHD OpenWRT (~500Mbit at 80Mhz) Switches: Netgear MS510TXUP, MS510TXPP, GS110EMX
ISPs: Zen Full Fibre 900 (~930Mbit down, 115Mbit up) + Three 5G (~800Mbit down, 115Mbit up)

Yea I gave it a spin, and I decided it's not worth it 😞

Bummer.
