Well it can be used for anything people want to hide. Just turns out that's often illegal stuff.

my friends were talking about the deep web and I had no clue what so ever about it,so I wanted to check it out for myself (so how do I go there??)

don't fucking go there, just fucking don't.

100% of the sane people that went there agree with me.

The deep web, oh boy. Since my last graphics went over so well, I might consider making one about that at some point.

The deep web firstly, is a scary place, full of dark magic, slave-trade, and other various arts [that was me being facetious.]. It's a place not for the light of heart, I once compared the lighter side of the deep-web to the worst stuff you can find on LiveLeak. If you think you're ready for the deep web, just go to liveleak and watch all the videos out of Syria. Then... you'll not only be seriously scarred for the rest of your life, but you'll be ready to get your toes wet in the deep web. It's a place full of drug trades, actual sex-slave trade, child pornography, rape, and snuff films. If any of those terms right there put you off even slightly, stop now and turn back. If you're interested to see how far down the rabbit hole goes, or attempting to try and find some hidden gems out there, then saddle up on the Tor Browser and go nuts. Just know that if you ever attempt to access a website off of tor, you're going to get like... totally rekt 90% of the time. We're talking 20minute GG and hitmarkers all the way across the map with an intervention.

What did you mean with the last part, about accessing a website off of tor?

What did you mean with the last part, about accessing a website off of tor?

there are ways to access some portions of the deep web off of the tor browser. Through mostly inadvisable or illegal ways. And the vast majority of the time, it is impossible. But, for those few occasions where you can access them, and have it actually send some information back and forth, it can, and will totally destroy you if any of those service sites are monitored. There's a reason that tor encrypts data so heavily going to and from source to source. Hackers on the deep web are many, and foreign governments are many as well.

That place sounds really dark lol

It is. The vast majority of it is just inherent internet infrastructure and other various databases locked out, but the communities that can be found there are primarily of very, very illegal standing. Things like forums for child molesters to share stories or ask for advice on rape. Places to buy weapons, drugs, sex-slaves, or stolen credit card numbers. Places to watch snuff films. It's seriously a terrible place for the most part.

While long but this documentary should answer most of your questions but actually I don't think you should need this but anyways. Like others have said be careful of not finding an illegal site whilst in the Dark Web if do so choose to venture into the Dark Web. Actually I think one could actually make horror stories out of the dark web...

(Watching that Documentary myself, I still haven't found anything related to Dark Web maybe the Cyber Security and Cyber Surveillance is building up to the stuff about Dark Web.)
