Bought a Acer Aspire prebuild for my dad.

At day one I openend it up* and switched the PSU, a SSD with Win7.

 

*warrenty voided = IDGAF its a prebuildpc, never again a prebuild pc.... <_<

If it works for the first 30 days, I immediately find a way to void the warranty.

Eventually, EVERYTHING I own has a void warranty once I decide to open it up and clean it

well they say it voids your warranty if you take your gpu apart but ive heard differently, i changed the thermal paste, i also took about 5 xbox 360s apart to clean them. ive always been careful with my stuff though so ive never had to return them so voiding has never been an issue.

Depending on the PCB manufacturer of your GPU, some of them don't void the warranty if you take off the fans/heatsink to change the thermal paste or upgrade it to water-cooling (EVGA usually doesn't void warranties if you put a water-cooling block on at least their higher-end cards).

Speaking as someone with one of EVGA's 6GB GTX780 SC ACX's under a EKWB block, I've still technically got warranty on my card even though I currently have the ACX (1.0) heatsink/fan unit sitting Judas in the packaging my card came in, almost as if EVGA expected me to put the card under water-cooling.

I had to void the warranty on one of my GTX 660 Gaming cards. Experiencing high temperatures for no apparent reason, fans were running fine and as a last ditch attempt I pulled the cooler off and found that there was barely any thermal paste on the GPU, cleaned off and re-applied and she has been fine ever since.

 

I don't like voiding warranties but sometimes it is required.

I MIGHT have voided my PSUs warranty. If it had 5 year warranty instead of 2-3 years. I bought it 2011 and was checking if I can easily change the fan. Turns out I can't and while doing some related googling, found out that the series top end has 5 year warranties. Oh, well. It works, for now. And I would gladly get more silent PSU.

I'll generally wait a month or so before doing any warranty voiding. 

 

Just about every major component in my computer has had the warranty voided aside from the SSD.

 

GPU: replaced thermal paste with TX4

CPU: Overclocked, and using a non-stock cooler

Mobo: Removed and TX4'd the coolers on that, too

PSU: actually haven't messed with this yet. Planning on swapping in a better fan eventually--not a huge fan (lol) of the zero RPM fan thing.

I void the warrant on everything then put the sticker back on it to make it seem like i didnt. Its worked several times.

I always void warranties but I have gotten away with it before because I usually replace the "if removed warranty voided" stickers.

I voided the warranty on my CM hyper 212 EVO because of an annoying warranty sticker on the fan wire that just got in the way. I didnt realize what I had done until I read "Warranty void if removed" out of the corner of my eye. Oh well, what could go wrong with it anyways?

I did watch some IT guy void the warranty on my laptop (in order to open it up you have to break the warranty seal) in order to check the insides. Thankfully, I had purchased extra 3 years warranty against human error etc.

Tried to warranty it because it actually failed unrelated to said delidding.

 

Clusterfuck ensued.  I would have gotten away with it all had I not put the WRONG FUCKING LID BACK ON. Story ends with it getting confiscated by Intel.  Probably should be an award for such awesome accomplishment.
