back-plate for stiffness... Better than a windforce which IIRC doesn't have a back-plate.

How much can a backplate really help tho? I mean, my DCII isnt really all that big a card and still sagged a bit even with a backplate until I fixed it myself with some cable routing stuff.

Ahhhh, that PCI-E power cable support... gotta love that.

Helps allot but a stiffener (angled bit of metal down the edge) helps more.. Should see a DCII with no backplate.

I don'T PreSS caPs.. I juST Hit THe keYboARd so HarD iT CriTs :P

My favorite's were DFI boards with the purple PCB and bright green ports. Those made me gag every time.

Abit made some sleek and sexy boards with red PCBs all the time unlike the rather tacky looking MSI ones.

I think components now are a lot sleeker and much better designed but you're right. They lack that certain "not sure if its gonna turn on today" charm.

I personally think the X79 and Z77 boards are really good looking, some Z97 but not many.

IMO, best motherboard ever made produced -

I used to run a pair of 9800 GX2s in SLI. And everyone says R9 290s are hot.

Average temp on one of those cards was about 95-110 under load and that wasn't even as hot as they got.

But they did look damn sexy.

If you had an old Athlon idling at that temp then you had issues. I've got some Athlon XPs that run at about 28C under full load and maybe 32C overclocked. Athlon 64s weren't much worse either.
