Are we talking in terms of features, style, price, reliability, after sales support? However, in general, these are the ones I would trust:

  • Antec
  • Silverstone
  • NZXT
  • Cooler Master
  • EVGA
  • Seasonic
  • Corsair
  • Be Quiet!
  • Fractal Design
  • XFX

In terms of how I would rank them 1-5, it depends on which of the aforementioned points you would focus on.

I have had Coolermaster , Corsair x2, and EVGA

The cooler master was a cheap 500 watt PSU and had coil whine, The corsair was a cx450m with a load fan, the other was a RM450 perfect PSU good looks, And my favorite the EVGA supernova 850, no complains about that one :D

You can't base it on brand name - Corsair's VS series have huge failure rates, EVGA's G1 series have huge voltage control issue at 5V, Silverstone has issues with coil whine. What budget did you have and what was your setup?

Yes and no. A lot of Corsair's PSU's are SeaSonic power supplies with a customized chassis but around them. However, not all of them are. They have 3 or 4 different manufacturers that make their PSU's depending on the product line.

There are very few actual companies manufacturing PSU's, everyone is just a rebrand of someone else. That being said, most of the most reliable and well loved PSU's are made by SeaSonic or SuperFlower, then resold by Corsair, XFX, EVGA, and others.
