They might he worried that shared mods might not work if there's a huge difference in framerate across all platforms and locking PC to console parity is the Cheapest and easiest way to solve this.

Yep, though Evil Within was developed by a team of people with little to no PC experience using an engine that let's just politely call not great (id Tech 5). Every game on id Tech 5 has performance issues.

I'll tell you what.  If the game is actually locked at 30fps on PC when released, I'll give every single person who posts in this thread $60.00 to buy a new game.  Seriously.  60 bucks.

 

But it won't be locked at 30fps for PC.  It will run at whatever your rig can handle.  But, I will put my money where my mouth is when the time comes...

It could be that the game could run at 30 on everything, not that the game will be locked on everything.

The "everything" part most definitely refers to consoles. I see no reason why they would lock the framerate to 30 for PCs, since y'know, better hardware on that side of the fence ~> moar FPS.

I'm with OP on this one, they likely meant consoles. Like most of you said, there's NO WAY Bethesda is stupid enough to pull off that kind of suicide, especially after the paid-mods fiasco. It would be tantamount to 'political' suicide.

Hmm, I agree. I'd prefer an unlocked framerate, but 30 isn't bad either. Also, personally, for games such as fallout (cinematic/open-world/rpg) I prefer the resolution over the fps... Though I wonder if they could have gotten 60fps if they went the 900p route. Not that much of a difference in looks, but a big difference in smoothness .

I doubt that it will run 30FPS on PC. If I were developer I would try to avoid as much as possible 30FPS and Downgrade gate.

if this is the case i will wait to see if a mod will fix this otherwise.......no sale
