Would you take a computer for free if...

SIGSEGV

If someone built an awesome computer for you (so around about a 4.5Ghz 8-core, 32GB of RAM, 980Ti let's say), free of charge on the condition that they run their server on it 24/7 would you take it?

Nope. Simply because it costs too much electricity.

What kind of server.

what, no it doesn't. Depends on the server, but it doesn't.

But i can't do anything on it if it is running  a server.

Run your own stuff on it.

What kind of server.

A Node.js HTTP-chat server with about a maximum of 60 users on at once

Can't imagine chat server being very demanding.

Well whatever happens, you will restart the pc now and then anyway (updates, programs, whatever)

So maybe it's better to take the pc, and build a cheap server to run it's server on that?

Then you get actually a high-end pc for the price of a slow cheapo server :3

If you want my attention, quote meh! D: or just stick an @samcool55 in your post :3

What eight core CPU are you talking about?

Yes, because once they give it to me it is my property and I delete the server.

But you agreed on the condition.

If you agree to run it as a server and you delete it you breached the contract.

But the computer is mine, it isn't a contract from a federal court just some random giving me a pc.

You're assuming they didn't write up a contract for you to sign.

From how it is worded there is no contract just some guy asking if you want a pc and if so will you run my server.

"Under the condition", not "under the contract". I'm assuming not you are assuming yes.

Let's say that breach of contract loads a crypto-clone to memory

It's called a verbal contract. Which is still something that can be used in court. Also this wouldn't go to a federal court. You'd likely be in a small claims court. Verbal contracts are still legally binding.

Well, since it is a chat server you could take the GPU out and put another cheap one in without affecting the server's performance. If it has an iGPU then even better.

The incident would need a few bystanders and/or a recording for what you say to happen.

Then I would use the parts wanted from that PC and switch them with mine, he said with the computer he gave me a.k.a the tower he gave with parts in it, because the individual parts just give the pc meaning but are in no way attached to stay in the tower he gave me.

I would probably take the machine sell it on eBay then build another one with the same specs from the money I made on ebay. Simple...!
