The seniors pulled the senior prank, and had a water balloon fight in the halls, and a bunch ran out of the school.

The principal came on the announcements and called a stay put drill due to "the safety concern in the hallway" and sounded very angry.

Opinions?

(BTW I wasnt in it, not a senior)

no. it protects the school from the liability if somebody slips on the wet floors. it was the right call. a school near mine poured baby oil on the floor in the hall as a senior prank last year and 17 students were suspended and not allowed to go to their own graduation. multiple people slipped on the floors, I don't remember if there were any broken bones.

Nope. A kid slipping and hurting something IS a safety issue.

I guess it depends on how many water balloons there were.

A lot. Like all the halls are soaked in water

Well I don't think its a safety concern, but man I would dig out those who started it, since it disrupts normal school classes and parents may be angry due to kids having some sort of a water fight in school and coming back wet or smt.

But it's a prank. You need a senior prank

Halls crammed with a ton of kids on entirely soaked floors isn't a safety concern?

It's definitely a safety concern, as the school can be liable and can be sued for any injuries caused to people slipping on the water, as they didn't clean it up, preven the situation in the first place or keep everyone still until it was clean (which they've done).

Seniors don't need to do pranks. Here in my school we've never had upper 6th do anything like that and we're the equivalent of seniors. Yes we've had "incidents" but they've not been pranks, large scale or dangerous for other pupils.

No you don't.

Why do they deserve to have a prank for completing the absolute minimum in society?

Idk, but you do it every year.

Eh. It's a liability thing. They don't want to be responsible when a few hundred kids are cramming halls that have water-soaked floor and some poor cunt slips.

It's not like it was that dangerous.

It was better when last year they spray painted a penis on the big hill that is visible from the road

Agree.. I know it from my own experience :D

I did prank where I poured water next to the stairs (dumb idea as fuck I know)

Then I realized how dangerous that is so I went to clean it but I somehow overlooked that water and sliped on it and went down the stairs prety hard (luckily nothing happened to me)

Then I climbed stairs back up and slipped again (luckily nothing happened to me again :D )

It was like some scene from cartoons... and yes... serves me right :D

Shouldn't be able to sue a school because someone slipped and fell. That's just stupid. Put up wet floor signs, make an announcement, call it a day.

Man seniors did way worse things when I was in high school.  The principal didn't give a shit.

That is part of why I said that it depends on how many balloons. It could have been 100% drenched floors, including stairs. We had a senior prank like that as well.

My senior prank was $100 in pennies in a bag poured over the railing onto the floor below during class.

I think the principle made the perfectly logical call.

lol, that's more extreme than i thought. all our seniors did was just put sticky notes all over the principal at graduation. needless to say, he was cool with it. but your principal did overreact, and at the same time, he didn't. Sure, it's fun when you have senior pranks, but when it gets too far, then it's a problem.
