Looked for a Bluetooth Keyboard/Trackpad combo, came up empty.

 

Looked for an affordable G2 socket ITX motherboard, came up empty.

 

Looked at some reviews for the Enthoo Luxe. It's a nice case, but I think I'll stick with the Pro for now.

Calmed down my buddy who was convinced his new 980 was borked when it would crash whenever taxed in slightest, turns out he only plugged in one of the power cables (doh!).

 

Reclaimed my dual 660's he was borrowing in the interim and am giving em a cleaning before they go back in the boxes.

Stripped a notebook today, added new NT-H1 thermalpaste  for the CPU and GPU.

Thing was hitting 99 degree Celsius on movie rendering.

Now it only gets to 81 degree Celsius max.

Played Dragon Age: Inquisition on PS4 today (at my friend). Man.. PS4 is not that impressive (over PS3)

i made a portable Pifm radio transmitter with a display/hud/controll unit on my bike so that i can transmit my music to any fm freqensy.

McGyvert myself a desk fan out of a broken USB cable, old case fan and a charger. Not that big of a deal, but kind of hard when you don't have any soldering tools or clips^^ But it works like a charm and is quieter than I can remember that fan has ever been.^^

I talked to the cameraman for a Youtube Show called RoadKill and learned he used Avid and had 18 quad copters that all shot 4K.

You bet. Saw the new Red van they just built and watched them motocross it and do insane burnouts. It was super cool just hanging out and talking to them and their cameraman. Learned a lot and a lot that goes on behind the scenes.

Yesterday I got a secondhand k65 for ~$41

 

Today I'm still adjusting myself to typing on this thing, and later I might buy some o-rings and a laptop for my mom. I'm gonna accompany my dad to X-T10 launch and maybe get him to buy me a new monitor

I extended a sata data cable by cutting of the connector on two cables and soldered them together, works like a charm. no pictures thou.

I seriously need to learn how to solder, I did a fan transplant on my PSU and I did something similar to you, where I connected corresponding fan cables to each other, but my solution was to just strip about 1 inch on each wire and twirl then together and wrap it in electrical tape. Soldering is such a nicer and cleaner solution.

Lets see. I gave a printer a static IP and setup my mom's computer so that it could print from it.

 

Otherwise I spent most of today modeling... so does that count as tech related?

 

Although over the course of summer I had thus far managed to upgrade my freenas server from a mere 2, 3 TB HDDs in RAID1 to 5, 3 TB drives in RAIDz 6. As well as added another 8GB of ram to it for a total of 16GB. Also I installed 3 Noctua fans into my desktop. One of which is slightly getto mounted since the place was perfect for an intake fan but the case manufacture didn't think so. And lastly I reinstalled pfsense and resetup my VPN and most of the static IPs I had prior to the entire thing just randomly breaking. I also intend to get a MSI GS60 so that I can have a workstation that's also portable enough for University so once I get that I'll have to clean out all the bloatware.

I converted a 12V indoors RGB led strip with a remote control to be molex powered and put it in my case turned out quite good, also when I was going to type this my PS2 keyboard from 1998 decided to die RIP. "lucky" I had usb keyboard laying around...
