Does EVGA think it's 2013?

Imabigmac

Well I get emails from them and this was the latest one for a Memorial Day sale. Look at the video cards???? a 570's/580s and random 600 series cards?

BTW, the full add also had some 670's on it. (for $100!)

..and seeing how people are interested a link for you guys, mind you it doesn't have all the cards/mobos on the ad so not sure what up with that....

All of those are still viable options for parts.

Yes, and I mean the 670's they have on the full page add for $100USD are a really good deal. However wouldn't EVGA be better off trying to sell the $500+ cards that are current?

I don't know about you, but I will take that x79 dark and a couple 580's.

X79 yes! but I didn't really care about that it was the video cards.

If you had stock of things that are still relevant for some people, wouldn't you want to get it off your shelves? Hmm?

yes and no, because at this point you would be selling them at a huge loss. That said any money is some money, and they aren't getting any younger. They ahve probably as product to company been written off as a loss of some sort by now.  I just would have thought that would have gave up or tried to liquidate them a long time ago.

Storage space is money that can be spent on newer hardware. It'd be a good idea to clear everything out. Again, these parts are still relevant for some people and EVGA needs to get them off their shelves so to say.

Or they could rent a storage locker with the money they make from selling a few titan X's... Now I know they are nothing the size of Apple, Dell - but when you think of those guys they must just have massive warehouses full of old product they couldn't sell, so for EVGA to have the same I wouldn't be surprised.

Some people like me want some GTX 580s.........and these 580s are dirt cheap.

Time for you @vinyldash303 to buy some Fermi cards.

The hell is the point of that?

Atari dumped a bunch of junk into a landfill in the 80's, I'm sure the new "green" companies have the same amount of product that wasn't sold for what ever reason and they won't sell it so they just keep it in storage cause at the end of day they make too much money to care.

Also, we know now how ridiculus margins there are on hardware ^^

Yeh Linus, Nvidia does make money on high end gpus. Lots of it.

The unfortunate part is really the deals are good in the US and there only. For Canada because of our dollar we would pay 25% more and then get ripped on the shipping.

It would have been nice to get a X79 system running, but postage to Australia would have been terrible, and getting a 3930k isn't that cheap/easy either.
