Best board for an FX-9590

Hi guys, I got lucky and got a new, unopened AMD FX-9590 with water cooler from my local thrift store for $10. They must have had no idea what it was. My question is what motherboard would you recommend for it for around $150?

Sometimes people don't know the true value of things and would rather make a quick buck then just throw it out. I bought a Samsung Galaxy Alpha for $30... the guy thought the phone was worth $50 brand new, not knowing that was the price on a contract, not outright.

Is the crosshair better than the m5a99 by a lot?

No. Like I said above, within reasonable clock speeds you will not notice a difference.

Honestly no ROG board is worth it, and won't be of noticeable difference compared to the M5A99FX unless you're doing balls to the wall OCs

The ASUS M5A99FX is a very good board, I would say it is slightly better due to ASUS's BIOS, but Gigabyte's 990FXA-UD3 is very good as well.

The UD3 is slightly cheaper so there's that. Both are great boards. However if OP is looking to use up all $150 anyways, IMO the 990FXA-UD5 is the best option for the money.

I absolutely love my motherboard and would recommend it for any FX processor.

Another good choice would be gigabyte's UD3.

Personal Rig v3: AMD Ryzen 7 2700X | Noctua NH-U14S | Gigabyte B450 Aorus Pro ITX | Zotac GTX 2070 8GB | 16GB G-Skill Trident DDR4 3200MHz | EVGA Supernova 750B | Phanteks Enthoo Evolv ITX
