Apple Pencil Pro clicking noises and weird pressure sensitivity stepping?

I recently got the iPad Air 13 (M2) with the Apple Pencil Pro mainly for art and other fun stuff, I'm not really an Apple guy so my knowledge about these things is somewhat limited. Everything works but whenever I use the Pencil Pro it makes a clicking sound that feels like a result of a physical issue. I wouldn't mind the sound but whenever it clicks (it clicks when I increase drawing pressure) the pressure sensitivity of the brush I'm using has an awkward stepping (picture for reference below). It came out of box like this and I've tried taking off and on the nib but it doesn't fix it

 

Is this a defect, or how this product is, or am I just doing something wrong? I wanna figure out so I can either return it to the store before my 14-day window is up, or learn to live with it if no better alternative options exist.

Is it possibly the haptic engine? 

I'd go to an apple store and just ask someone if that's a possiblity

I don't think it is, but maybe? The haptic feedback feels very vibration-y and seems to come from around the center of the pencil. The feeling and sound I'm getting are coming from the tip and feels more like a very physical tick. I don't really mind the clicking, but it's mainly that I can't get a smooth transition of size in brush strokes.

This isn't something a wide array of people are going all have experience with. You'll likely need to go to an Apple Store and just ask if its working as expected.

I would, but I'm in the boonies and the nearest Apple Store to me is a good 120+ miles. I was just hoping to see if anyone else with a Apple Pencil has had a similar experience or if mine is an outlier. I plan to drive to the Best Buy I got it at soon, but I'd much rather save the trip if I can and just return online.

It shouldn’t make noise. Call Apple, or download the Apple support app and go through that. They can ship stuff.

Found a reason to make a trip back to the Best Buy. I'm gonna return it for a replacement and update here if the new one does the same thing or not

Exchanged it for another. Definitely just got a defective one
