Well, I sure am glad that my daughter who asked for a more powerful video card, AMD processor and more memory isn't a hacker, seeing as this only applies to male offspring..

Actually AMD historically did produce knock-offs  of intel chips. They bought a new chip and reverse engineered it; enabling them to make a cheaper version a few months later.
