Posted April 19, 2015 I have just finished a new build and i would like to know what everybody thinks. This is my 2nd complete build.I have in it an AMD FX-6350: Cooled by a Corsair H55 closed water loop: An MSI 970 Gaming motherboard: 8GBs of G.Skill RAM: An XFX Radeon R9 270X DD Edition GPU: Powered by a Corsair CS650M PSU: For storage I have:Toshiba 128GB SSD:Western Digital 1TB Blue HDD: All this is wrapped up in a Thermaltake Versa H35 Case:* *(Had my old EVGA GTX 650Ti in it for testing and setup before i got the R9 270X) As of a week ago this is the final setup: Everything ran smooth as butter. However i wasnt perticularly fond of everything being basically straight black. So i decided to sleeve the psu cables. I went with pure white to offset the black: To me that looks considerably better. Its not so dark anymore. That got me to thinking: "Why have the inside of the case so dark?"That led to 2 White LED strips being put into the case. One is at the very top of the case whole the other is on a bottom: This is my "Completed/in-progress" Build. I would like some feedback as to what you guys think. I would also like to have some ideas as to what i could further do.

Posted April 19, 2015 @Tedster How about now? I'm kinda nitpicking here, but they'd still be a lot better in:
image goes here
tags. This means that you have to press 'show' to see the images so it doesn't consume nearly as much vertical space. Sig under construction.
 Posted April 19, 2015 Author Nice build man, what LED's did you install, I'm looking for some atm (blue) Honestly, I went to Autozone and got some made for automotive lol. I got a molex 4 pin extension from radioshack and hardwired them into that. http://www.autozone.com/lighting-led-and-neon/led-lighting/type-s-white-led-kit/543853_0_0/ That is the kit i used
 Posted April 19, 2015 Author My old pc had fans with LEDs that were blue. They came with an Antec case and they were horrid.

Posted April 20, 2015 this is a nice clean build and good to see people here still do an AMD build, not everyone can afford top of the line super expensive components, this should easy run some nice games and programmes. is your GPU the 4gig edition? just after seeing a GTA5 benchmarking video that 3 or 4 gig of onboard video ram is good to have nowadays and was looking the the R9 270x 4gi myself and wondered what it performes like. got to love Asus components
 Posted April 20, 2015 Author Mine is the 2GB version. Both of my builds are AMD but my other one has nvidia graphics in it. So far ive only really run Mass Effect 3 and The Witcher 2 EE. Mass Effect has a fps cap of 60 and it stayed there consistantly. The Witcher 2 stayed roughly around 35-45 fps Ultra setting with ubersampling turned off. Posted April 26, 2015 Author UPDATE: Cleaned up the wiring a bit and removed the HDD cage. HDD was moved to the lower 5.25" bay. Moved the front fans up a bit to give better airflow over components. Also some pics for a better look at things than before: Better look at the front and back of the 270X Push/Pull setup for the radiator LED Strips that were used for the lighting. Posted April 26, 2015 It's nice to see some budget-builds on here. Even if they aren't super fancy you can still make them look nice and clean. Good job on this one. I like it. I would love to run something epic like a absolute top of the line cpu, 3 way sli titans, fully watercooled, etc. But i cant afford to. I love doing budget builds because it proves that you dont need the most top tier stuff to have a good gaming rig
 Posted April 27, 2015 -snip- Why did you decide to go with the FX-6300? Unfortunately, AM3+ is kind of a dead socket and It's really old technology. What does the backside of the case look like? Posted April 27, 2015 Author Why did you decide to go with the FX-6300? Unfortunately, AM3+ is kind of a dead socket and It's really old technology. What does the backside of the case look like? The 6350? I went with it because 1. It was within my budget. 2. I research for awhile and build a pc on paper before actually purchasing parts so it fit into my build. 3. It has 6 cores. I do a lot of stuff at once that will use several of the cores. How would you say that the am3+ is a dead socket? Many apon many new amd cpus still use the am3+ even the fx 9590 uses it

Many apon many new amd cpus still use the am3+ even the fx 9590 uses it Sorry, didnt mean to criticize your build or the effort you put into it. Just trying to find out what kind of requirements do users see for purchase justification. I can see cost for sure. Not quite sure on your second point. However, I disagree with your third point. The FX-6350 has 3 modules with 6 "cores", if you look at the architecture, it's really a triple core machine considering 2 cores share an L2 cache, not one. Unless you are doing heavy multi-core numerical analysis or CAD, this will not be any more useful than a quad core machine. AM3+ has had no future for a while, especially beyond FX-9590. The highest end chipsets (990FX and SB950) came out in 2011...there has been no further development for 4 years...just because there are new CPUs out does not mean they are new technology, just new chips. Also, look at the power consumption and power handling required to sustain those CPUs. In fact, in terms of interconnect, there still has to be a north and a south bridge. In other AMD and Intel CPUs, these functions have moved to the CPU.
