I'm new to modding forums and new to scratch building so hello fellow enthusiasts! Please offer any advice or ideas as I love new ideas. This build is for my father. He loves early automotive design and I was inspired when I saw a 1938 Spirit of Motion made by the late Graham-Paige company. The design and shape of this build is heavily inspired by the "sharknose" grill the Spirit of Motion has. Because of complexity and the number of parts I wanted to model the case first. Modeling also is helping me keep sense of the scale. I want this to be as small as possible as it

It's been years since I built a PC. How long? My last one had an FX-8350. I've been starting to do more video editing now so I needed something other than my laptop. It's nice to see RGB being a lot more integrated nowadays. But I also see why Linus complains about all the cables. Wow, there's a lot. Way more than when I built my last PC. I wasn't just going to build something simple. I always loved making something unique. Even if it's just a paint job on the case, it's enough for me to say that this is a one and only. I'd really only ever build one ITX PC once for an HTPC years ago. So I dec

Rainbow Dash Wizardry Mark II (RDW MK2) is my personal evolved, completed gaming rig I built and tinkered over the last few months of 2020 after her departure from the "Mark I" status. It was inspired from the PC built in LTT's Ultimate RGB PC Build Guide but made to suit my needs - optimized for overclocking and whisper quiet operation, even during a heavy, synthetic workload. When RDW was in her Mark 1 days in 2019, she was temporarily used as a PXE Boot Server at my workplace (an internet gaming café in Singapore) to boot 84 diskless gaming PCs for my customer's enjoyment for 3

I decided to create a build log for my long term project of MEGA DESK, which is finally done (for now). The 'plan' for this began last year with the purchase of my first home. The only initial requirement was that I wanted a sit stand desk for my main rig Blueberry Pi but I had more room for just a single desk so I went to drawing board. Throughout the past few years I have had more than one desk but my at home setup was in my room (at my parents house) and was limited on space. I don't have any great photos but this is more or less the final iteratio

So I recently got back into woodworking and computer building has always been a hobby that I love. So I got the idea to build my next computer desk from some reclaimed white oak that I had laying around in the shed. Then it hit me, lets make a Jack Daniels themed build with a full copper waterloop. I am planning to use the Jack Daniels bottles as the reservoirs, and since they use white oak in all of their barrels, I figured it would be the perfect setup. I also had an old whiskey barrel that will be cut down to use as the legs of the desk. Here are some pics so far of the desktop where t

*misspelled purposefully to be the first result in google searches for "lightcanon" Welcome to my custom flashlight build log! The LightCanon is an aspheric lens flashlight designed for maximum throw. Called "lightcanon" instead of "lightcannon" so that its easier to find on google, and also because I forgot cannon has two ns instead of one... "Throw" is the distance the light beam can reach. In this case, a high power LED combined with a lens will give us a highly concentrated beam of light, theoretically reaching over 1500m ANSI throw distance

So up until now, I've just used laptops, but I finally decided to build a pc. I just recently graduated college and got a decent job, so I have some money to work with, but I also have student loans to pay off and a wedding coming up, so I needed to keep it reasonable. I really enjoy virtualization and I've wanted a fully virtualized system for a while now for several reasons, on top of that I found out about the $75 E5-2670 cpus, and I had my starting point. This build will be a dual headed gaming rig for myself and fiance, a nas, and a development pipeline server

A little bit before the launch of the new AMD Ryzen 3 CPU's I posted a thread asking for input on what I planned to buy. I watched some reviews on 7/7 and then ordered the whole thing the day after. Transplanting a meme into a dream A story of how my lowest spec PC occupies my dream case So a few days ago I was browsing the Sweclockers market for deals like the used-market addict I am and came across something interesting. Someone was cleaning out their PC parts and among them was a Fractal Design Nano S. I have wanted a Nano S since the launch and my intrest in the case only grew when Jay did the glass tubing watercooling build in it. Never really had the right money to buy one brand new and they rarely show on the used market but this one was in the same city and starti

It's been a while since I posted on the forums, so uh... hi. Feel free to skip all the talky backstory bits and jump straight to the video at the bottom. Anyway, here's Wonderwall. Here's a demo of how my lighting works before I installed it: And some unicorn barf after I got the water stuff all hooked up:

Project: OLD SCHOOL I built this MOD back in November 2012 as a result of my desire to utilize an iconic case and my desire to run OSX. It took some serious thought, a lot of hard work and a lot of time consuming elbow grease, as there were several factors that came into play with the formulation and completion of this MOD. (No true MOD is ever really completed. It is, and always will be an ongoing project) I started out with an PowerMac G3 case (Yes, I know it has been done perhaps a thousand times before, BUT not in this fashion) as I liked the design and it has attained the reputa

Hi all, this will be a log of my second custom watercooled PC. My first watercooled PC is my current gaming PC and this one that I will be building is going to be my HTPC, I know that it is a little bit overkill but it will also be used as my VR station. Parts in Green will be parts that I have, parts in Red will be parts that I don't have, and parts in Blue are parts that I have ordered. This is a non sponsored build and all parts were/will be bought by me. Name: The name that I have chose for this PC is Orange Creamsicle or just Creamsicle for short. I know that it is kind

The general concept was to create a nice PC for moderate workstation style tasks. Link to PCPartPicker CPU was an easy choice with the price friendly Ryzen heavy-hitters. I chose the 1600 because of the six cores + free cooler that keeps even this chip overclocked cool. Missing the mark here, I would have loved to have upgraded to the LED spire that comes with the 1700 but I think the case should have enough LEDs when I'm finished! Motherboard, CPU, and RAM were a package deal on Newegg saving $100. The motherboard is nice but would have be

Hey all I really wanted to show off my build because I’m incredibly proud of it! Plus I’m only 18 I originally started out building this PC in a old Corsair Carbide back in 2013, I was only in the 7th grade!!! I used Neweggs and Linus’ videos for assistance as many fellow newbies back then did too. After completing this build I pretty much set my entire attention and life goal on computers. To be later defined as Computer Engineering! I’m also incredibly proud of my overclocking capabilities with these parts, you can see exactly what I’m talking about by checking out th

The backstory.... Growing up my home was not particularly gaming friendly and so my exposure to games was all nighters at friends houses (where I basically got endlessly stomped on). Anyway, a couple years ago in college I got the urge to do some gaming but I had no money and a MacBook Air so I scoured steam for a first person shooter I could play. That set off a little bit of an obsession and about 10 months ago I decided I was getting a new pc to actually play games at decent frame rates and to play something other than source games. The build!!! i carefully crafted my

December 2017 Here begins my story of wanting better RBG lighting for my 805i. For Christmas I got a NZXT Hue+ as I thought it would be needed for the Kraken I planned on buying on boxing day but I soon found out that was not the case. I tried to plug the Hue+ into my current lighting that was said up, but it was either really dim or incorrect colors, so I decided to leave it be. When I got the Kraken, I was blown away by CAM's software and music visualization. I was not used to it. If you have ever seen In WIn's software for lighting, it was a joke. Unpolished, lacki
