iPhone: apparenly -120 3G is easier to sustain a connection then -112 LTE

For me 3G cuts off at -100, and lte works fine up to -112 (for data transfer).

oh

With Rogers(TM) you can use -130 LTE! Although its so slow.. speedtest wouldn't work

3g cuts off at -120 for data.

138 is a good number.

LTE from sonera (in Finland) stays connected until -140 before it switches to 3g. (But it goes fast, so you dont notice) Usually 3G is even worse when lte cuts off. Signal strenght usually stays somewhere between -90 to -130 with lte and -70 to -112 with 3G. (now i have -96 3G)

here in suburban toronto it stays connected until ~-130 LTE

and then it goes searching

usually it will find -127 3G but its fucking useless.. I can't even place a phone call

heres the stupid thing, it usually connects to 3G all the time

even airplane/reboot won't help.

if you're lucky it connects to LTE but quickly switchs to 3G when it reaches ~-120.

if 3G is too shitty, well too fucking bad it stays 3G unless there is no 3G it goes to phone calls only.. not even edge.

signal strenght is around 100 LTE to no service.

the thing is -130 lte is usuable and -120 3G is unusuable

More stupidity from this forum...

User complain about lower FPS than expected with his new 1070 ... Everyone jump in saying even a 6700k will bottleneck a 1070 and so he should 100% get the top of the line Skylake CPU and motherboard and dump the hardware he currently has...

*sigh*

That's why I'll never make a thread asking for help here. :(

Yeah man. You need a 6950X to not bottleneck a new 1070 or 1080. Didn't you know /s /jk

another epic Story to continue my rant from

So here we go.

Said dude wants to buy a new PC and asked me (why me, he's the Genius?!?) if i could send him a list with components that can do "light gaming stuff"

-> Me making a PC for 900€ for him

Next day he's like "It should be capable of 4k gaming!" i'm like, why is 4k light gaming?

Meanwhile he is looking at a 29" UW at 1080p and i'm again like, why is this 4k? Do you know what 4k is?

Couple days later he sends me a completely overpowered PC and asks if it's any good. i'm like, no, overpowered. I send him the exact same PC again that i made a week earlier.

TODAY and i kid you not, the tech Genius himself that asked for a ~1000€ PC bought a 2.5k€ machine that has

- an i7 6700k which he'll not use to it's potential

- a 330€ ROG Motherboard which he will not use properly but the store "recommended" it to him.

- a 50€ more expensive GTX1070 because "ASUS GPU and Asus Motherboard work better together"

- a 150€ ENTERPRISE grade 2TB HDD

- Microsoft Office for 180€ which we can get from our Company for 10€

- Win 10 for 120€ (i think my Company offers that aswell)

- a 700W PSU because "the 550W didn't have enough power"

- a 80€ Noctua NH-D15 because the other CPU cooler i recommended get's too warm (yeah right)

- now the best part - the store builds his PC for 99€ because apparently he can't do it himself.

- a 190€ 27" 1080p Display (why would you do that? That is not 4k and it's not UW and just why? the poor GPU...)

So he just wasted around ~850€ on useless stuff he won't ever use and he doesn't even have any knowledge about.

He's the fucking tech god that can't even build his PC on his own.

At every part he showed me i was like "overpriced and the store just wants more of your Money"

It's stories like this that make me wonder if I should start following this thread again :D

this is why if you want recommendations you either ask someone that'll not be receiving your money, or you go to a retailer who hires pc enthousiasts as sales people, and doesnt give them bonusses for making more money.

(besides, for most retailers it doesnt matter *what* you buy, because it's all the same shyte margins anyays, the 970 i got made my retailer a tenner.)

Heard this one today from the guys at Tech Support:

-> woman calls TS

-> woman claims she can't get wifi on her tablet

-> TSC asks about wifi router and the usual prerequisites for actually having wifi

-> woman says she taped a(n) (ethernet) cable to the ceiling so she could have reception

-> TSC mutes call, bursts into laughter

-> TSC unmutes call and proceeds to explaining how wifi works

-> TSC ends call after an hour and a half

I like to think that I'm techy but sometimes I'm an idiot with computers. Like the first time I tried to connect my new pc to my monitor and it didn't work. I tried it about 30 until I realized I was plugging it to the MOBO's intergrated GPU..

Also it turns out the Zenfone can run windows
