Get a Kraken G10, and a x41, and you should be fine. If you want to watercool one.

After several thermal paste replacements and (literally) tearing the shroud off, dusting the fans, and screwing them in really tight, it's quieter now, but still gets close to 80C (typical maxes are about 76C).

I don't know if you can call that a bad cooler, because it wasn't supposed to be that great. There are better coolers for the 7970, but this is better than stock by miles. Is your 7950 overclocked, because an overclocked 7970 dd reaches around 75c when gaming.

Ouch, it seems the silicon gods did not smile on you that day. Although if your reputation holds true you probably got the card for a steal.

was about to hop on this but

USED AND NO WARRANTY.

id be willing to bet a lot of these cards are crap/destroyed

It's a 7970. I don't know why you are freaking out. It was released in 2011. Any warranty on a GPU from that date would be gone.

Literally free.

At least now it doesn't seem to pass 70C folding. Before 90C was likely.

That's more then what you can find these used GPUs for, and that was my whole point. If you buying a card used and no warranty you should save money not spend more.

And there's places that sell this refurbished with a warranty for same price

You know shipping DOA and not reimbursing is fraud right? You can call your credit card compagny and overturn it.

if you read like 2 more posts, you see where I learn that. Im not going to edit my old posts because I learned something new lol. But yes, at this point, I do know that.

hell, I even said it had DOA protection mate.

Yeah I know but even if they didn't, it's not like you're just plain screwed.

yeah.

what im curious about, is my quick look around the page and it seems like they are a mining company/equipment seller. so Im curious if they where placed in systems just for pictures, or put them to use. Its very possible they where just used for pictures. But its also very possible that they where used to test their equipment/mined for long periods on. Not saying its a bad buy, just legitimately curious

I personally called their number and the guy I talked to said the cards were only used for display models, not actually used. He said in some of the system pictures, you might even see them.
