Worst Tech mistake you have ever made?

Mitch

It's too slow to do anything I want. People say it gets good frame rates at 1080p at medium or high settings on games, no it does not. I do not constitute 30 fps as "good." It gets massive frame drops all the time even when it's not doing anything and it usually doesn't even work under load, just at around 60%-70%.

To each his own. "Good" is just personal preference anyways. Just asking because a friend of mine has one, and seems to serve him fairly well. I'm sure he would like an upgrade, but I don't think he's been gaming tons recently anyways.

Same thing here, except my PX3s lasted me just over a year and finally broke out of warranty... -_-

I'd probably have to say a 7770 though, I hate this thing.

Hahaha. Why the hate? It's the most price worthy entry level gpu. I would love to have that one

Any turtle beach headset ever.  I've bought 5 over my lifetime and not a single one lasted more than 3 weeks.

Have had my X1's for at least 6 years, besides a little wear inside the ear cups they're still going strong. Probably the best headset I've ever bought.

My Marley headphones. They costed around the same as Sennheiser 558s at the time I bought them, now they're half and the 558s would've been much, much nicer. The Marley's are too bass heavy and muddy, horrible for mixing and mastering.

The Wii U right now. maybe if i bought it later on I could justify it

That was me when I bought my Wii. All I had to "play" was Wii Sports before Super Smash Bros. Brawl came along and I think I waited months or even a year for that to come out. Fortunately, Nintendo did pick up speed and I was able to get games like Super Mario Galaxy, The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword - the other reason why I bought a Wii -, Metroid Prime Trilogy, Super Paper Mario, The Last Story, etc. With the PS3 and 3DS, I was able to rack up games in months; the freaking Wii took almost a year per game. I've learned my lesson and decided I'd rather get a PC for multiplatform games and wait for consoles (and handhelds) to get their exclusives out. That part is still in progress due to crytocurrency...

Anyway, Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze just came out and there's Super Mario 3D World, New Super Mario Bros. U and Luigi U, Wind Waker HD if you never missed it on the GameCube, and that's pretty much it until Yarn Yoshi, "X", or Super Smash Bros. comes out. Since it has backwards compatibility with the Wii but not the GC, try out some Wii games.

Anyway, my regret would be a nVidia GeForce FX 5200. First off, this was when I was young and had pretty much no idea that DIY anything existed. This was also the time when I used the internet only for stuff like Runescape since my PC was and still is - the "new" office PC is better than the $500 - $700 Windows XP abomination - a pile of crap. Both are too weak to even play Fable: TLC which is why I bought the "GPU" or shall I say: POS; note: the PC I bought it for didn't have PCI-E. It even lags on Morrowind with everything down! I think I bought the stupid thing about a year or two before Crysis came out.

Oh, the desire to have an actual gaming PC was born from this damned spawn of Hell from which local stores could not get rid of. It was around $80; now it's like $30.

My current GPU. It's great, but it's a 4GB version instead of 2, that's a $100 difference give or take and it was only after I bought that I learned the extra memory mostly helps with larger resolutions (and I'm nowhere near getting a second let alone third monitor).

In a similar scenario is my case. Not a bad product by any means, but not the most suitable for my needs. It was $50 off regular price but it's SO much bigger than I could ever need right now. It's 24" tall and I'm not even really thinking of SLI in the near future. Worst part is my shipping cost went up by a lot because of it. Deep down I still love how beastly it looks though.

Lastly, I paid $150 for a very nice mechanical keyboard but could've gone with a much better keyboard for that price.

The only thing it can do in games to get a smooth framerate is turning on higher textures and little of anything else.

I bought a new GPU ( Gigabyte Nvidea ) ( can`t remeber which model but it was pretty huge & expensive ) . When you install driver CD it will install some other sort of Apps one of it is that thing which let you overclock . I didn`t know that much about overclock back then and I was missing around with it AND BOOOOM ! I burned my video card ! .

I pretend nothing happened to my family but I was crying a lot whenever i get the chance to be alone & remeber it as it really hurt me to this day .

While the PC was working, plugged a disk in a "hotswap" module that wasn't working which resulted in frying a couple of HDDs.

And once I dropped a RAM stick which died.

One of my friends got drunk and threw up in his PC that had a side open for better airflow (or better pukeflow). The PC survived.
