Is it time to host an "official" LTT CSGO server.

KungPaoChino

Due to the success of the game CSGO and its success and popularity, will LTT have their own dedicated server for the forum members??

I want to contribute to this a bit..... if it actually happens............

Thinking about doing an unofficial one. A 5€ a month digitalocean droplet should have enough power, even for a deathmatch

Molex to SATA, lose all your data

I would play on it and help anyone out wanting to get better. Seems like there are lots of silvers here on LTT looking to get out of silver and I could help you guys get better.

OVH would be a better choice due to packet scrubbing.

So, I am looking into renting a server...

Unless I make my own dedicated server ( doable but tedious )

_____

Okay, so the cost of renting a server for a room filled with 16 public slots ( 128 tick server ) is $20 USD. @gameservers.com

Server locations

(USA) Los Angeles, CA
(USA) Dallas, TX

(USA) Chicago, IL
(CA) Montreal, CA

_____

hmmmm.. any thoughts?

Let me know when it's up. I'd love to play with you guys. Did you get Chicago? That seems to be in a very centralized NA location optimal for USA and Canada members.

ATTENTION EVERYONE!~

I have purchased a 20 slot server @ Chicago, IL for one month. If this becomes successfull I MIGHT expand server wise or maintain longevity of the single server.

Details for server is pending as I have only paid already.

For some reason the connect button was grayed out when I was trying to join from the regular community server menu. I had to manually type in "connect 8.12.22.45:27015" in console to get in. Also, it might be beneficial to change the name a bit, customize it for a better map pool (de_dust isn't really a great map), and give yourself admin controls over it. Anyway, it definitely needs some tweaks. I'm still not sure why I can't connect normally.

I need to do this at home. School internet is terrible. Despite its great speed...
