Best Thermal Paste?

Muffinator
Go to solution Solved by Muffinator,

I accidentally posted before I had started my post. :P

...was that always a gif

also throwing in the Phanteks paste. IIRC it's the same thing as NTH1

What is the difference between AS5 and MX4?

MX4 is good.

Or some OCZ thermal paste on ebay mixed with toothpaste.

sweet jesus no. don't waste your time with that mixed garbage, it'll give you some pretty poor thermals. Pure toothpaste or don't bother.

(i herd the OCZ paste was good if you can find it)

this has a pretty nice comparison chart

obviously all your temps will vary +/- a degree, so almost all of them are more or less equal

Yeah, I used and it's good, but not great. Looking at those charts I think I'll use the NT-H1. It's cheaper than the MX-4 too :D

I used all this years Arctic Silver 5 and is showing a little meh in cooling my cpus, so I will pick the MX4 in the next time I change my thermal compound, if I had here in the shops the Noctua NT-H1 I would buy it, seems to be the best price/performance...

What is the best thermal paste to use on a GPU? I can't find my AS5 for the life of me.

Thanks.

Phobya HE-Grease is one of the best ones you can buy. And in TPU comparisons is always pretty high up ^^

Coollaboraty Liquid Ultra is the best one I have ever used, much easier to apply than the Pro version aswell. (also put it between my CPU die and the IHS)

I purchased some GELID GC-EXTREME a few weeks ago, haven't applied it yet but planning on replacing the paste on my stock cooler.

But guess what. No joke. It has a comparative graph on the back of the packaging stating that it lowered the CPU temperature (with stock cooling) by 18 degrees celsius over the stock thermal paste.

I really doubt it, but I'll test it out anyway.

Linus has a few vids on how to apply it, and from what i heard the product from Noctua was supposed to be really good

but simply a thin line or a dot in the middle as its only meant to fill in micro scratches in the metal and not actually create space between the components
