I am going to ordering a new heatsink soon so I have been researching on the interwebz to see what is the best thermal paste.

I would get IC Diamond or MX4 as your thermal compound because these are the products that I know that perform well. Have no experience with this brand so I do not know how good this compound is.

Thoughts?

Stay away from indigo xtreme! It performs the best, but has couple downsides. 

 

A- to get the paste to work properly you must apply it, turn off your cpu fans, boot into windows, run prime 95, let the temps go to 90c-100c, wait until temps drop and stabilize 

 

B- You cannot remove the heatsink, once you take it off the heatsink and cpu are permanently damaged by the paste.

 

My recommendations are MX-4(I use it), Noctua NT-H1, Gelid extreme.

Read this, it is a 80-way thermal interface material test, they used all different types of methods for application, and it is (suprisingly) non biased. Most people will fanboy on Silver 5 but it has a crazy long burn in time.

IC Diamond has to be the best in my book, however, I use GELID GC-EXTREME.

you could use the one on the h100i. otherwise mx-4 is good.

i saw on a site where they had tested a lot of thermal pastes and they saw about 1 degree celsius or so in difference and guess what? mayonnaise was just as good as low-mid range thermal paste!

As long as you are using thermal paste, it is good.

Yep, I use MX4, we use MX4 on our servers as well. None conductive and reasonably well priced.

I always recommend mx-4. Performs well, isn't electrically conductive, doesn't scratch anything, isn't corrosive, doesn't take ages to cure, isn't insanely expensive and it's fairly easy to apply,

 

^^ Basically yeah, use MX-4 for the reasons given above. That's what I'm using for years and I was never let down.
