I hate how some topics die out instantly and forever

Weirdybeardyman

It is really annoying when you are trying to get answers to a very specific question or something and if your thread only gets a few replies that is it. FIN. But if it goes big it goes really big, I think the thread prioritization is a little bit annoying in this respect.

Think the consensus is to reply to as many threads as possible rather then replying to the same thread more than once.

Eh, ask a question if you need answers I guess.

Also, follow your topics to be notified of new posts.

Maybe you need to put a little more thought into a catchy title+first paragraph?

Often after say a couple hours your topic will have gotten a couple replies but if they don't provide the answer you are looking for you are much less likely to get it because the thread will have become harder to find as it is prioritized less.

Sometimes threads just die off because no one has anything to add to it. Or if it's someone asking a question, that others just don't know anything about it.

Patience is a virtue? This is a forum not a techsupport. I don't know what you expect but nobody gets payed here to help after all. I don't want to sound like an asshat but facts aren't subject to change.

It is more along the lines of when I go and find a really obscure error and go to look it up. I finally find a somewhat relevant thread. They describe the issue to be the same as mine, someone responds with a fix that doesn't work... and then the thread dies. But to top that off, the thread creator responds with: "Nevermind, I fixed it."

And then they don't describe how.

Multiqoute the persons who replied to the thread and ask another question?

Always be sure to provide some pics and say what you have done already (if you are for example troubleshooting).

I often just can't reply to threads anymore, because OP doesn't give more info...

That is a useful tip, thank you, I often forget to do that or I am on mobile like now where I am unable to multiquote.

As long as the answer to the question is something that can be easily regurgitated you'll get a billion answer within seconds..

Things that require more thought then that easily slip through the cracks.

Honestly, after making countless threads on this forum in need of help, I don't know of any in which I haven't gotten a good answer.

Are you being descriptive enough in your OP?
