Posted January 13, 2015 Get a Z97 board Better psu: http://ca.pcpartpicker.com/part/evga-power-supply-220g20750xr I would swap out the H100i for the H110 or H105 or similar. The 850 pro is way overpriced. The Crucial MX100 or Samsung Evo are better value. Noctua Industrial fans are loud.
 Posted January 13, 2015 Author Lol this community is awesome. I don't want to overclock anything which is why someone recommended me a H97 instead of the Z97. Not a good way to go about it then? @stconquest @WinNut @givingtnt I'm going to be playing mainly CS GO and it doesn't work with SLI which was why I opted for a single 980 @bobo0246 yeah the SSD size is fine I don't need that much storage . You won't need an i7 unless you're editing video (which takes advantage of HT) and a non-K processor is basically the same thing but with a locked multiplier which makes it non-OCable. Posted January 13, 2015 Author These parts are too expensive for what they are...You can save a bunch of money. But would cheaper parts be just as reliable for long term use? The reason I'm not over clocking is because I just want a stable system that I can use as my light gaming and workstation pc for the next 3 years till I finish college. I'd rather pay more up front and have everything last without having any issues or headaches. But if you think that cheaper parts will provide me with the same reliability I would probably do that then.
 Yeah I don't plan to overclock or use SLI on this rig ever. Then you don't need a 'k' cpu You also only need a 500W or so psu. Left the Z97 board in as it matches the card/case. You can get a cheaper H97 board but they don't match colourwise.
