You do realise you are comparing a computer case against a computer right? Its not really a fair comparison (point me out if I'm missing something or I'm just wrong)

Unless you are really dissatisfied with the looks of your NZXT Phantom 530, I would go for a laptop.

If it can help your school work, and entertain you on vacations, then it's the better investment in my opninion.

But why does it have to be a 2 in 1 laptop? You could probably get a regular laptop cheaper than a 2 in 1.

I'm not a fan of the air 540. Is there a different choice for a case? lol

That said, I would go with the laptop since you're just replacing a case. The laptop is a better investment.

Laptop, a case is simply something to house your hardware. A laptop will provide you actual utility.

If it's a regular touch interface (no fancy sensor only works with our stylus bs) it should.

That depends on how the touchscreen on the computer is made.

The stylus for the Surface Pro 3 is an active Bluetooth pen, and won't work on most devices.

However the pen for the Surface Pro 2 (and Surface 2) is not an active pen, which means it might work.

I don't want to sound like a fanboy or anything, just for the love of all that's holy avoid dell consumer products. I know too many people who have had to return laptops aio and pc's by them. So if your still considering the above I would say the air.

I'd personally get the laptop unless there's something horribly wrong with your current case.

I am bias because I have a 540, over the few months I've had it the amount of airflow that you get thru the case really helps to cool my gtx 770
