I was seriously disappointed by MS, the features they almost added were just an awful idea. The new systems are not worth buying, especially if you already have a PC that you can just upgrade But just my opinion.

Oh, god. Why do I bother with anything Microsoft? Oh that's right, because people aren't embracing linux enough for me to play all of my games...

wasn't there a steam beta for linux a while ago?

shouldn't you be able to play any game through it?

Limited selection, so far only indie games and Source titles. It's growing though. Unreal Engine also has a linux port being worked on. Combining both engines, a good chunk of games should run natively on Linux.
A good chunk of gamers are waiting for specific Source titles to be ported before making the switch. Namely, DotA2.

Steam is officially out of beta for Linux. Or at least, it's widespread beta.

I'm betting the Dota 2 official summer release will be for both it being FTP and available on Linux.

wouldn't hurt if upcoming triple A titles like battlefield 4 were available on Linux as well.

Here's hoping for a Linux port of Frostbite. And other big engines like CryEngine, etc. Of course, it's up to the developer of these engines to work on adding linux support. Valve has offered to do it for them, last I recall.

Origin would need to either 1) die and defer to Steam, or 2) work on its own native Linux client. I don't see either happening, but I would prefer the former.

Assorted tidbits on Steam for Linux :http://steamforlinux.com/

I'd recommend making the switch now and maybe buy/re-buy a few games on the Linux client just to show that people actually are willing to buy games on Linux as opposed to using Wine, etc.

actually if you own a title on steam windows and it is available on linux steam you can just download it at no extra charge :) i so hope it gets sorted soon, i love linux.

Also when they did tests games were actually getting better FPS on linux. Probs coz the OS isn't hogging all yr powers lol and thanks to windows 8 the people who used to say "oh linux is difficult to use" are now more warm to the idea of switching.

I was able to replicate the results. Neither "The PS4 is" nor "The Playstation 4 is" return any interesting results. In fact "The Playstation 4 is" has no auto complete for Bing and on Google it's stuff like "When the Playstation 4 is coming out".

Shenanigans!

I thought Steam was starting to port most of the games over to Linux.
