Hey guys!

I am proud to say that the Green Molecule build has been nominated for February 2015 Mod of the Month over on Bit-Tech. It's a great honor to be nominated along such awesome builds. Thank you :)

If you've enjoyed the build log so far please have a look at the nicely written article and cast one of your votes to show some love for my build, and stay tuned for more as I get closer to completing this build.

Here is a look at the water blocks I will be using. I'll have to admit I have had these photos for a while, just not sure why I didn't want to show them until now.

Firstly a look at the GPU blocks as well as the CPU block mounting frame and MB block before painting. The CPU and MB blocks were both showcased already painted in a previous post.

As you can see from the pics the blocks are EK FC670 waterblocks. These will fit some reference 970s with the short style PCB so I chose to keep my 670 waterblocks and continue to use them in this build.

Thanks for checking it out and please cast your vote for my build in the MOTM round-up :D

Cheers,

Alex

Hey guys,

Bit-Tech Mod of the Month Voting Thread - please show your love for my build :)

The custom res arrived from Clockwerk Case Mods and tonight I had some time to play around with it and take some cool photos. I hope you agree with me that this is the coolest res you've ever seen!

That res looks killer. I wish I had one for my build  :D

Thanks mate, yea the res is awesome :D

to be honest i thought that white and green for this build would tern out horrible, now i have second thoughts with the coolant and the res

Thanks, I think white and green are a great combination :P

Your a wizard teach me your Ways

Hahaha

Looks great but that front panel green doesn't look right. Looks way to flat and dull compared to the neon green.

It looks good in my opinion. The reason I went with this green is because I didn't want a grass looking green or a very bright neon green. When the UV lights are in the build with everything lit up I'm sure it will blend in nicely :)

Yeah I agree with you there. Doesn't look right at all, totally different colours.

I think the different colours between the coolant and front panel adds a contrast element to the build so I like it. If the whole build was that Neon green my god it would hurt my eyes. The coolant is also the same colour as the fans so ties in well.

If its just the coolant that is unbalancing this build its easy enough to change down the track :)

Thanks guys! Yea that's exactly what I was going for, just more contrast between the colours and didn't want a neon green look or a grassy green look. I picked that kind of green for the front and top panels because it has a sorta green towards bluish look. I though with the UV colours inside and they seem to emit a blue not purple tinge the ones I have (if you look back at the pics with the fans) it will look really well. Also the colour of the fluid will match that of the fans and of the sleeving, if you look at the pics of the build before the tear down, you can see that all the greens inside the case match up very nicely, with just the different tone green that I'm now using on the outside. Also it did look a bit washed in those pics but it looks much better and vibrant if you would actually see it in person, probably some of the other pics with the case from previous updates are a better representation. I will try to showcase the colour better in the future pics.

Thanks a lot for the feedback guys, I really appreciate it.

Cheers,

Alex

Hey guys,

Here is an update with the current state of the build. I managed to get all the cables in and did lots of cable management. Only cables missing are the GPU cables and the cable for the pump that will go in with the shroud.

Everything in the bottom will be covered by the shroud but that is pretty much where I have mounted the Aquaero and have all 7 fans connected to it. Also in the bottom I have a small PCB with six 3pin fan headers where I have connected the 4 LED strips that I'm using.

Please ignore the red SSD an HDD in the back as I will be getting new SSDs before the build is finished.

The clear acrylic is done for both side panels too. The SSD window was stuck using some double sided 3M tape and the main side panel windows was stuck with epoxy adhesive so it is on really tight and flush.

Also the custom reservoir is mounted too of course and it looks awesome in the case.

There is an LED strip hiding in the back there as well, you can just slightly see it. I also have one just behind the 360 rad in the top, just above the CPU and RAM area.
