For my gaming pc: Build a "4K pc", ddr4, 8gb gpu, 4k monitor.

For my server: upgrade hd's to 8x 6TB. will have to wait a while cuz that will cost around 2K :(. Although in my dream world i'd buy 3.5k worth of stuff for the upgrade. (New case with more hd room and a 24port controller)

I have no signature

Get liquid cooling so I can push my core 2 past 4GHz (or a downdraft air cooler that is better than the P4 cooler and a freezer pro 7 rev2)

My plan is somehow weird
I am going to build 2 PCs:
first one in 2016: a capable 4k machine going to pay around 4000 usd no custom water loops though
second one 2018-2020: A pc with the shape of a death-star I already did the math(dimensions and shit), I am thinking about making the body of the death star a heat-sink I have a couple of ways to do that I am just waiting for proper funding

and for my current build I may add more ram since 8GB is not enough

CPU:AMD FX-8320, RAM:Kingston Fury Black Series 8GB (1 x 8GB) DDR3-1600, GPU:MSI Radeon R9 280, Case:Cooler Master 690 III, PSU:Thermaltake Smart 650W

Storage:WD Purple 1TB, CPU Cooler:Hyper 212 EVO, Keyboard:SCI Granite, OS:win 8.1 64bit, Display:Samsung SyncMaster SA100, Mouse:CM Storm Spawn

My next upgrades will be a water cooler and a bluray drive. Later down the line I may get some new case fans and some case LEDs. Other than that, I will get a new GPU down the line when I feel I need an more power.

1. Sell the two 24 inch monitors (not the same ones).

2. Buy a single LG 29UM65 or a similar type of 21:9.

3. During the same time - get a new AMD CPU which is to be released in 2015 and a new GPU released during the same time.

Projected total price would probably be around $1000.

Depending on shipping costs, I might downside to a small mATX or m-ITX case.

Replace the GTX 480 with a GTX 970 or R9 290.

Replace the 60gb/120gb SSD combo with a 240gb or 500gb SSD.
