Can you see the difference between 1080p and 4k?

VY_Canis_Majoris

So here are 2 screen shots, but I don't think if you're viewing it on a sub 4k screen can you tell the difference?  Plus I had to make them Jpeg's to fit over png due to file size.

I can tell the bottom picture is 1080p because it's a little blurrier than the top picture.

Other than the GUI scaling? Not much.

But it's hard to say it because they are jpg images.

How does the bottom picture have a larger file size than the top?

It's hard because of the 2mb limit, 4K is 12mb file size vs 3mb of 1080p.

No they aren't but due to downsampling they basically are the same, darn the hard cap!

Upload the images to somewhere like imgur/puu.sh and then embed the link :)

Pretty much.

In real life, it depends on your monitor size and the distance you are from it as to whether you get any benefit.

It would probably be best to use a game that has better quality textures right?

I think I have scaling set to 100%. I like it that way. I sit about 4 feet away from my tv.

If I were farther away I would bump that up to the maximum. :)
