I've just brought a new rig and it came with a R9 270.

One of the guys at my work doesn't know much about the AMD line of cards so what is the nvidia equivalent so he can get an idea of what I have.

Cheers

760, but you can find 770's and 780's fairly cheap used and on sale.

also take a look at a 750ti, if you want a small, cheap, cool card

Probably. But the 270 is pretty similar to the 265 while the 750 Ti and 760 are completely different beasts.

We can say the 270 is between the 750ti and 760, since the 265 = 750ti and 270x = 760

There is no direct Nvidia equivalent. It would fall between the GTX 750 Ti and 760 in most games. AMD's current lineup is much more segmented than Nvidia's.

Heavily overclocked, it would possibly match a 760 in certain games, but not out of the box.

There have been many wars that have rocked the face of Earth, Many have heard of WWI, WWII, The Cold War, The Vietnam War and the Iraq War. But there has been a war that only a handful of humans know.....AMD vs Intel. It all started in 1985 when Intel released the first 32bit processor, the Intel 386. This war has been raging on for decades and Intel and AMD are still at each others throats. Fanboys have been ruthlessly killed, motherboards have been short circuited and most gruesome of all... CPU pins have been bent. Stop this war before it is too late. #STOPTHISWAR
