Its actually just depth perception I think! The piece of fish was cut into a rectangle but the tail of the fish tapers off a bit giving a bit of a triangle look from that angle.

Is there any specific balkan dish i should try cooking?

I have a classmate from serbia that keeps banging on about balkan food so i am a bit curious

Try making:

 

-Sarma

-Gibanica

-Pljeskavica

-Cevapi

 

Those are the ones i personally like (of course, there're SO many more, but you know...) :D

Sarma seems pretty similar to "Kåldolme" though which is a swedish cabbage roll

Yeah, there is... But, it's not like i ate a lot to... I only ate Serbian food, or Balkans food, not much of anything else... I seriously need to widen my horizons, but when i smell sarma i suddenly lose interest for that... I wonder why :P

Mind blown. Still looks good though  :)

Oh yeah, It's amazing. :wub:  It's what I look forward to whenever I go visit my grandparents in Slovakia. It's a shame that America does not have a lot of ingredients required to make some of that food, or else I'd be eating it so much more often

I think it's called goulash in English? Basically a beef stew (although you can put more/different ingredients in it)

 

I do this at least once every time I go out to see my grandparents. They have a really nice cottage in the woods, away from people. My dad, granddad and I set up a fire in the back of the house, fill a pot with all the ingredients, and let it cook in the fire for a few good hours. God it's so good. 

 

recently we've started making them a bit more spicy (more paprika, etc). I guess my mom's culinary culture has started to influence my dad's  :lol:

What if you made a quesadilla and then made a pizza on that, using it as a crust. Then fried the entire thing.

A Chipotle near my house has the option to use quesadillas  instead of tortillas to wrap your burrito. It's called the quesorito (or quesarito)
