We should figure out what we can do to launch an annual LTT Lan party. It should be some where, most of us can get to easily. It would be fun 1-2 days of playing games with all of the members, possibly have Linus and Slick and some of his crew come down.

What do you guys think?

Edit

Possible Ideas

  1. Host one Giant LAN in a Hall or a Aircraft Carrier, located in a major city for easy transport
  2. Host multiple LAN parties around the world in Major Cities. All the LAN parties would connect online to play the same games to become one giant WAN party
  3. Organize one giant WAN party, world wide.

I don't think it'll be possible to have it easily accessible by everyone. Some people here live in India. I live on the East Coast of USA. Some live on the West Coast.

Then you just come over and chat with people, duh

OT: do you guys think we can rent an aircraft carrier so we can pick everyone up?

(although that might require more than 1-2 days)

Any unknown button should be pressed even number of times.

A LAN party would be very difficult to organize, this forum has well over 10,000 members at this point haha. That is a lot of PCs, monitors, gear, power draw, etc (even if just a small fraction attends). I think a huge wan party would make a lot more sense, all of us could flood a multiple BF4 servers or something :)

The forum has almost 150k members, of which less than 1% are from vancouver BC, and not everyone will be able to go, So I would expect a few hundred people at most to come to an LTT LAN party.

I am thinking somewhere in the United States. If we all put in some money I think we could rent out a giant building or even an Aircraft carrier. I'll post a poll on where this should be held.

We could do a combination of both, a Lan party and Wan for those people who cannot attended.

My bad for not knowing the real number, but I just feel like this would be very hard for slick and linus to orchestrate. But I'm sure we could all figure something out if we put our heads together :)

They would pay for an organiser. Then people who come pay a small entrance fee.

Just imagine several warehouses full of LTT members, all with their gaming machines. The AMD fanboys on one side, NVIDIA on the other, people throwing iPhones and android phones at each other. Linux fanboys smashing Windows fanboys over the head with their free software driven machines. Just imagine the chaos, the warfare, that would break out between the members. Sounds wonderful. I'm in.

Wishing leads to ambition and ambition leads to motivation and motivation leads to me building an illegal rocket ship in my backyard.

To be fair to everyone, let's do it atop Mt. Everest... To set a record of most gamers playing a game over lan at the highest altitude...

Let's hold it at Pyonyang, North Korea

Let's do it as multiple, simultaneous LAN parties at the captial cities of the states/countries that the members are in...

I'm liking this idea, multiple LAN parties around the world for one massive WAN party :D. We could have one LAN in each major city and have the cost covered by us, so much money per person to come so we can cover the basic cost. The worlds biggest WAN party.
