Sony's Playstation 4 2.0 firmware update has caused much grief for many next gen PS4 console owners.  Do not update your console to the latest firmware update and instead wait for Sony to fix all that is going wrong.  Right now there are massive security flaws with Share Play and rest mode as it has been dubbed by whoever could possibly cause data loss on your hard drive.  Refer to the article for more information.  Again do not update your console to the latest firmware which is the 2.0 firmware update.

I seriously don't understand obvious flaws like this.... It's like when a case manufacturer-- Fractal, Corsair, Cooler Master, NZXT, Phanteks, etc... release a case with such glaring issues that get pointed out by every single reviewer....Like do companies not look at the shit they're putting out and think..."Is this a good fucking idea..."

People who don't lone wolf and have friends... who like couch gaming :)

 

I know of an alternative forum I frequent with a few Aussies who have had to re-setup their machines and download everything again.

Such a stupid thing to deal with... 'the quality control'

 

Now they will implement an external 'HDD imaging' backup I bet, for future fuckups.

I have a PS4.  I also have a monster PC.  I am also single with a disturbing amount of disposable income through my university degree and tech industry job.  While others on this forum may not have a PS4, there are certainly a lot of people like me on this forum. :)

I haven't turned it on since the update.  So this news post is great for me.  My reasons for a PS4 is:

 

- First party titles. Uncharated, God of War, Jak and Daxter (hopefully there is one), The Last of Us

- I am an indie game developer with a current partnership with Sony.

- I have tons of money (as stated earlier), hehe

 

Would I like to play those first party titles on my PC instead? Absolutely.  But unfortunately it doesn't work like that, so I must buy a PS4 to enjoy further gaming content and experiences.

I use a PS3, so I don't care.

 

This seems the be the same amount of fail as Corsair Link for Windows 8.1.

They tried to innovate too much, PS4 cannot handle that much. They should have left the color changing thing to the 3.0 update.

I updated, however none of these issues affect me because I always shut my systems down and I don't add anyone as a friend on PSN or know anyone irl that I want to share my games with.

To anyone who has updated already, you can disable Rest Mode in the system settings. As for Remote Play, just don't use it temporarily.

Don't worry, it won't affect my sleep. I just find it silly that you're claiming that no one cares about the next Souls game, and how you even went as far as to say it was "the one game" specifically no one cared about, especially when PS4 exclusives like Knack exist.

 

Then again, you called it a launch game, so you know as I well as I do that you don't know what you're talking about.
