Gamer1406
Go to solution Solved by SAV1OUR,

if you play a 1080p or 1440p the 4gb's more than enough, nvidias going full retard with the 8gb stuff

I will be building a pc in 1-2 weeks with a 970 4GB but nvidia just anounced the 970 8GB version should i wait?

if youre going for 4k, then the only reasonable thing is to SLI 2 8GB 970's or 980's

It's not full retard if someone is going to run 4k.

Considering how well the 4GB variants do and the limiting 256-bit bus, I would say this is not a wise idea.

4gbs still fine for 4k, the reason they're going stupid is because nvidias trying to compete with amd when its a waste of money

It's not a wise idea. Both NVIDIA and AMD are going full retard in thinking that 8GB cards make sense now when the real limitation is how powerful the core is.

4GB is enough for up to 4K, though if you were to do something such as 4k surround (Which you wouldn't be able to do very well on 1-4 970s) then 8GB would be helpful, but who is really going to do 4k surround?

Specs: CPU - Intel i7 8700K @ 5GHz | GPU - Gigabyte GTX 970 G1 Gaming | Motherboard - ASUS Strix Z370-G WIFI AC | RAM - XPG Gammix DDR4-3000MHz 32GB (2x16GB) | Main Drive - Samsung 850 Evo 500GB M.2 | Other Drives - 7TB/3 Drives | CPU Cooler - Corsair H100i Pro | Case - Fractal Design Define C Mini TG | Power Supply - EVGA G3 850W

in what res tbh, 800x600 using 6gb? that game is a joke.

when u have a game title at  1080p using 6gb vram is just poorly optimize.

and why would you buy such hardware to play a game like that.
