This or the Enermax Liqtech 120x which can perform just as well as thin 240mm AIO coolers.

The H110, H100i and the Kraken x60 are all excellent choices. At that price point i would start considering the Swiftech h220x. The reason for considering the h220x is it can be expanded to cool other parts and is an incredibly high performance AIO liquid cooler. Just make sure you have enough clearance between the top of the mobo and the liquid cooler before you buy.

Why do new threads keep having to be made rather then continuing old ones?

Look at the Kraken X41

In terms of temps, just about any. In terms of extra performance you will get out of your system by way of overclocking...none. I had an h110, I moved to the evo 212 with the same overclock and still a tiny bit of headroom for temps.  I never pass 70c at 1.275V
