MSI releases teaser for new Twin Frozr 5 GPU cooler

Whypatch

So OC3D have just posted what may be the final render of the Twin Frozr V cooler. It is suspected it will be for the GTX 980. These renders may yet be updated as it is still speculation at this point due to no official release material.

I personally like the new looks of it and am happy they got rid of the stupid badge. The fans also look exceptional, but I guess well have to wait and see performance.

What are your thoughts of the new cooler?

Edit #1: Also not 100% sure but the red plate around the back fan and the teeth looking bits around the card look to possibly be removable like on their motherboards (if so would greatly help people match other coloured boards and components).

Also additional original source which I didn't read first as I read the OC3D post of it.

Edit #2: Confirmed by MSI US on facebook.

Still don't get that really acx was out way after the other board partners had made non reference coolers. The cooler that I think is like ACX is XFXs coolers but this looks different and seems to have more heatpipes (haven't expensively looked at acx so inform me if incorrect).

I was hoping for a dual-fan version of the their TriFrozr. And I've read that those are 100mm fans....

The other board partners designs go back generations, anyway I get your point and they look a little alike now especially the fans I guess.

Personally I like those heatpipes with their nice nickel plating.

So OC3D have just posted the final render of the Twin Frozr V cooler.

"Videocardz do say that this cooler may not be the most recent MSI rendering of the cooler, so the final product may be slightly different."

Duh.

Yeah, at least they're not just ugly copper heatpipes :D

If they make the red portions of the card removable, then they'll have just made perhaps one of the most aesthetically adaptable cards on the market.  All black with nickel-plating and chrome branding would be beautiful.

Those heat pipes are probably the best part. Makes it look like exhaust pipes on a rat rod, especially with all that chrome.

Wow. Now that's a card I'd like to see in a rig. The colors are very impressive and sleek design are way better than their previous designs.

So far it looks good; I'm glad to see that they took off the badge.I hope they implement something like 0DB fans at idle on this version. I don't want to have to get a strix version for that feature.
