Im all for 4K cameras getting cheaper and cheaper and cheaper and cheaper and cheaper. Why? Because, thats what technology should do. In a few years 4K of this level will be sitting in your average PS, and thats a good thing. 

 

@Slick maybe get one of these for a review? 

 

 

 

 

Blackmagic's 4K URSA camera was announced at NAB in April, but delayed much to the dismay of would-be film makers every where. If the first footage shot with it is any indication though, it looks to be worth the wait. Cinematographer John Brawley -- who also demoed early footage of Blackmagic's Pocket Cinema Camera -- uploaded the first frames captured with the $6,000 camera. The URSA is a large departure from past models, as it features a 10-inch, 1080P pop-out display, traditional camcorder form factor and a user-replaceable 4K sensor with a global shutter.

Luckily, everyone has a 4k monitor to enjoy it fully

btw, im not saying its a bad thing, its a great thing. but its not really usefull for now.

but i guess it looks sharper than 1080p footage

Wonder how this stacks up vs cameras like the Red

 

Cheap 4k is already available on the GH4 which takes STUNNING footage, I kind of wish I bought one over my Sony A7

How did you embed the vimeo video? Last time I tried it, it never worked

It's just a viewfinder. The resolution of it isn't really important. Matter of fact that's probably the highest resolution viewfinder ever made...

You're using that screen to frame your shots and get the exposure/shutter/ISO and everything dialed in, as well as proper color. These screens often ignore resolution in favour of being more color accurate so you get a better idea of what the sensor is actually recording.

well one has to cone first, u either have 4k content and no monitors or monitors and no 4k content

$6000,  Pffft (with extra rasberries)  I'll just sticky tape 4 1080 cameras together and use software to stitch the picture together.
