Moto X+1 to use SD 801 instead of the 800

This is actually quite interesting, rather than using 2 low-end chip like they did with the original moto x, they have pulled all the stops, and are using only one high-end SoC:

The snapdragon 801 @ 2.5Ghz, making this the only other phone than the OnePlus One to use this binned version of the 801.

 

I am going to guess that they are doing this because the 801 there is already a voice detection feature built in that one omni-rom developer has found and used

Snapdragon 800 voice command "Hey Snapdragon" 

Since the 801 is basically the 800 with higher clock speeds, and with this same implementation to be used into the OnePlus One, it's safe to assume that this is what they do if they decide to keep this feature.

I wouldn't see why not? The S801 is newer then the S800, makes more sense to put it in Motorola's latest flagship

Wow, not to derail a bit, but, damn, that's a huge camera. But even this is faster than my Q6600 stock.

Though the dual front facing speakers are definitely nice to see, and if that rumored battery turns out to be true that's pretty stellar as well. Motorola is a beast when it comes to battery life.

 

I won't be truly excited until the Snapdragon 810 phones start coming out. That's when we'll see true leaps in performance and phone spec.

I was thinking more along the lines of 55mp cameras, greatly improved WiFi speeds/connection, significantly better GPU, and improved battery life

At least there is a phone that has wood. Most other phones I've seen are usually plastic or aluminum (which is good still with wood).

That's what they did with all of their motorola devices, X, G, and E inclusive.

It's meant to be a point and shoot, not a DSLR

The ISO control is more software related I believe. Nothing Qualcomm has control over.

I'd just like to see some of Sony's larger 36mp sensors in a phone. Hopefully with their 6 month refreshes they have something in the works.
