Is it possible to rice a computer?

terrytek

I've seen cars getting riced (my dad), but is ricing a computer possible? I've seen some ugly cases, but they don't advertise it as ricing google images. Ricers should never exist in the first place, fucking cars, computers, everything they touch is rubbish. Ricing is a really stupid thing, and we should stop ricing. My reaction when I see a riced object (car, computer, etc.): gUbwTTl.gif

I was going to say it was a Japanese thing because rice, but then the Chinese also are fond of rice so I suppose I can't say that after all.

I'm going with yes, people like Linus with flashing LED madness on the RAM and people with RAM coolers etc.

Lol I guess you could tint the viewing window purple or lime green and mount a gigantic spoiler on the back as well as purposely ramping up the fans to maximum all the time.

No, if you've seen the show Pimp My Ride you would know what the OP is saying. "Ricing" a car is adding all this extra junk to it to make it look "cool"(looks cheap af)

Yeah, and we need to end this revolution. Who the fuck even started this junk revolution turning junk cars into even lamer cars?

+1 For Jezza GIF.

I agree though, when people 'customise' a car such as the 240 Estate, it makes me queasy.

Any customization purely for aesthetics is ricing

sleeved cables, coloured water cooling, LEDs, paint etc.

in fact the trend of plasti-dipping cars has moved into the PC scene with people plasti-dipping cases, motherboards, etc

besides, murdered out cars are still sexy.

Where do people get these stupid terms. Wouldn't customizing/ modding be more appropriate.

Yeah, at least the mods people do HERE are tasteful. Anything outside LTT or OCN is bound to do no benefit for the computer. And probably done wrong.

Welcome..

Yeah possible. Calling LED Fan lovers. Don't get me wrong lightmods are awesome when well done but overdoing it -> rice. Sleeved cables, ok. I've seen so many messed up colorchoises like red case and green cable. So rubbish and ugly.

Bye LTT. That was an interesting journey on this board. At least here you see how not to do it. I'll go shaking my head about this place.

Why on earth would you dump thousands of dollars into PC components, then put it into one of the hideous fractal design cases? You might as well just stick the whole thing into a cardboard box and save the money

That's like taking a high end car, and covering it in rust/shit/dirt.

I just personally dislike flashing LEDs on my machine, I think they are distracting and tacky.

I don't have a Fractal case, but whether you like their aesthetic or not is purely subjective IMO.

A case for me needs to be minimalistic, simple and easy to work with. This is why I got the Fractal Define R4. Just need to mod it now, so it has a red LED for the power light. Hate the blue.
