A question for canadians

In BC, 4L cans. 2L comes in cartons.

In Ontario, 2L comes in cartons, 4L comes in a bag. Each bag usually has 3 smaller bags, designed to fit inside a jug perfectly as pictured.

It's no more work than twisting the cap off a carton or can.

I don't think so. Dealing with a solid object is much easier than dealing with an object that keeps moving around like jelly.

Oh no. I saw that, but why not just simplify the process and put the milk in the jug with a screw on lid and sell that, it would make everything easier.

(I live in Windsor, ON right on the border so we shop in the states a lot. A lot of my family's milk is in jugs, but it isn't purchased here.)

Really? People are too lazy to use a scissor to slice open the bag and put it into a milk jug themselves? 

Also, less plastic used in the process.

I generally buy it in a 2L carton, but if I buy things like cereals, it's better to just buy a 4L of milk in bags (divided in 3 bags).
Just put the bag in the container, cut the corner a bit and pour it in, easy to use, no mess.

Milk doesn't spoil just because it's "container"(bag) is  "open", it might pick up smell from the fridge but that's it (clean your fridge), it doesn't spoil any faster just because it's left "open", the tiny hole you make in the bag isn't enough to make it pick up ALL of the smells either.

It uses less plastic overall and the container to put the bags in (posted before in this topic) is reusable/washable.

We used to have bagged milk in my middle school. I was weirded out by seeing those things for the first time. Can't exactly say American jugs are superior since I've had several of those go bad way before the expiration date.

I kind of wished we had milkmen. I don't know why, but I guess the novelty of it is cool.

 

Also, in Asia and other parts of the world, you can buy other drinks in plastic bags.

I haven't seen milk bags in probably 25 years.  Though that's here in Alberta, can't say the same for the rest of Canada.

Both are available , I read the Bags are mostly or only known from Ontario and Quebec (towards east coast south)

It's less work. It's slow if you only use it once (initilaiy) but then quickly catches up with more then double the speed.
