I shot this yesterday in my local forest. This was my first time mainly photographing trees. I had only a short moment before the light changed and I would lose the harsh contrast on the trunks.

DSC08836.jpg

It looks really cool imo

I would shot a bit more upwards, but if I am correct what you did was good because those rocks on the floor and the trees in the background created some good depth of field

Alright Boys (and Girls), so i'm currently in Auckland! And insted of buying myself a much Need travel tripod i decided to buy myself a used Nikkor 85mm f1.8D. Gosh thats a sharp lens (exept when i upload them here)! Mounted it and went instantly sgooting some street photographs.

Yes Ryan, my black Point is faded out. I know that and I like it. But thanks in advance ;)

Sorry but they just don't do it for me, it just doesn't work well in my honest opinion

Photography is pretty subjective and everybody has a different taste, so that’s ok for me:)

i quit like your photograph! Lovely editing and perfectly sharp. The only thing that I don’t quit like, and I’m nippicking here, is the fact that the head/hair is cut off. I don’t personally like that on people.

But overall great picture!

8/10, the photo is super cool and I love the bokeh in the background, you nailed the focus on the cat's eyes. However I think the photo would look a bit better if the lighting was more regular rather than just on the left of the cat's face. I really like it though!38815432454_c25a1b1a21_o.jpg

I think it's interesting, very nice dreamy or contemplating vibe. For me, the bokeh is a bit two swirly and therefore distracting, especially around the reflections on the glasses. But that's due to the lens you're shooting with I presume.

I was on ski holidays last week and had one good night with clear skies while I was up in the mountains. I always wanted to shoot star timelapses and this was a nice opportunity. This is a stacked image from that timelapse series with added comet effect.

Overall exposure is okay, but I'm confused by the picture.

I can tell you are experimenting with leading lines, possibly rule of thirds. If the mustang was the object, keep it in one of the thirds, and remove the railings from the composure here, which are distracting in this case.

Good focus on the subject with dof and lighting. It's nice to see the products he's been making at the front. I feel like the picture could be a bit lighter and cropped tighter. But then again doing that might ruin your composition.

I spend last week at Koli (a kind of Finland skiing resort). Enjoyed -25 ... -15 C weather and sun shine the whole week. Here's one pic I took:

Thanks. Unless you mean that there are hills, I think I actually got the horizon decently level - though it's a bit hard to see. Just for fun, I compared the edge of my screen to this version that is exposure adjusted so that horizon is actually clearly visible. :P

thats really cool i think there is a little bit to much of a yellow tint but that is my preference i really would like it if it was changed in lightworks after to give it a bit of a whiter feal for the snow, although i do understand you might not want to do that but overall it is a really nice photo with the sun and the trees.

i am super indecisive between these 2 photos so i have put them both here. i have other of similar or better "quality" but i think these are the 2 maybe. these are probs taken on a cannon 70d and a sigma lence although they might have been taken on a 550d i cant tell intill i find the raw images.

Unfortunately both photographs are out of focus and they are also cropped to tightly on the subjects in my opinion.

Also there is a lot of "noise" in your owl picture which doesn't help matters.

Nice shot, I'd personally like to see a bit more context but it definitely has an effect, sort of blissful, I like it. I wonder how a vertical shot would have worked out.

I really like how the third shot framed, 10/10 nice job.

I went to dc recently and brought along my gopro as it is the best camera I have, it's a Hero5 session, I took these in 10mp linear mode. That makes it less fish-eyed than the other option, 10mp wide. This is from the National Botanic Gardens. I have other photos from that I have not looked at yet and might post later.

I like the geometry and the angle, but there is some blurriness, and it isn't abstract enough imo. I would try going for a more extreme angle. Get right up under the trees 6/10. (Doesn't help that I am not a nature picture person).

Was out yesterday and took this cracker. I took it with my Sony Xperia XZ Premium, using superior auto mode and took at 5056x3792 (4K). No post editing has been done this is the raw photo and it's stunning, I mean the camera adjusted the settings on the fly and what it's come out with is breathtaking.

Shot a friend's wedding this past weekend, with my Canon 10d dedicated IR.

No post adjustments, SFTC (straight from the camera) with the wrong white balance (forgot, had it set for my studio lights...oooops.)

I like the photo, though sometimes (and often) editing is necessary to make corrections.  I like IR photography in general, though in this case the eyes of the children look completely black, which might fit for a horror, but I doubt that is what you are going for.  Focus seems tack sharp and composition is interesting.

I need critique, especially on colour (but really on any aspect), something I struggle with.  I want to get better and try to take more/less travel photos that reflect my journey more than just the top sights and attractions.  If you have any advice on this I am surely open to it.

From an evening hike in Rakhiv, in Ukraine's southern Carpathian mountain range.  The photo I wanted I realized after that the focus was completely off, so this will have to be sufficient.

It might be a little out of focus, but to me, it looks alright and kinda helps it. I like how you composed it so that the foreground mountain falls off to the right and the one behind it falls off the opposite direction. I don't shoot with Fuji so I don't know what their color reproduction is like but the colors seem true to me and the shadows still have detail. Maybe you might want to add a splash of another color besides the greens and the blues, like a kite, flag or something. Overall, 8/10!

My picture a flower on a vine on a lamp post. I took it with a Canon 77D with a 35-80mm lens @35mm, f/4, ISO 100, and a 1/320s exposure time.

Thanks for the tip, I looked closer and it seems like the focus was off.  I think that it could be from the direction of the light and really not understanding how to use the camera.  Not an excuse, but a probable explanation.

For your photo, the colours and lighting are really nice.  I am not sure on the composition, I think maybe a closer crop would have worked better, the details could be easier to see.  I also noticed that the focus seemed like it is on the closet petal, which makes the middle seem out of focus.  I think focus stacking in this instance would make sense.  I can't give a /10, simply because I don't know much about macro and I don't want to seem ignorant.

From my first time using the X-T1 in the abandoned town of Prypiat in the Chernobyl Exclusion Zone.  I think that this is one of the most photographed spots, but I don't really care as there is such a cool atmosphere.  Visiting was a truly amazing experience, and I would recommend going before the buildings become completely closed and the site is too overrun with tourists.  Not dangerous at all (relatively), and you can meet really friendly dogs who love tourists (or more specifically, the guides).

though in this case the eyes of the children look completely black,

They are, sadly. If you can get heat to them, you get good eyes, but in the shade (the walkway was covered) you get this black eyed look.

Regarding your Chernobyl shot, I think focusing on the foreground bear would have made for a stronger image. But that's just my opinion.

Here is IR (unmodified) when eyes getting the right heat.

I used a custom white balance, and a whole lotta lighting in my studio.

-masterful snippage-

Now, I don't do portrait work, so i might not be the best to critique, but I quite like the up-closeness of it. I can't find much fault in it. What did you use for lighting?

There were some very noisy birds on my roof. Not edited, very overcast day, cropped a bit (there was half a bird on the right edge).

And on the first day god said: "Cue one GO" And there was light!
