am i the only one who can't control himself when he sees an SSD at a good price?

i feel like everything needs an SSD upgrade: i already have 2 in my desktop, but i also want one for my laptop, and one for my laptop at work, and my sister's computer, and maybe my father's

i already managed to make my grandfather buy an SSD for his pc, and i just bought one for my boss' father

I'm considering putting an SSD in my PS3. Primarily because the thing is an oven and I feel like the HDD will just up and die soon because of it.

The quickly evolving tech thing has caught me on ssds.

I'd like one, and a 120gb one is well within my budget, but seeing that 256gb ones cost as much as the 120gb ones cost when I built my current PC I don't feel like getting a 120gb one.

Life is so difficult ain't it.

The occasional post still pops up asking the worth of SSDs. I've seen users claim they're a complete waste of money.

I love SSD's too. . .

I even have one in my 60GB (now 240GB) PS3, it has made it quite quiet now.

I can't wait till 1TB SSD's become somewhat cheaper. :)

Although, I should pick up a 2-4TB HDD for mass storage (hopefully in the future)

No more moving parts, significantly less heat output than HDD's, close to an order of magnitude faster, whats not to like?

Once 2-4TB SSD's come down to less than $400 I will stop using HDD's completely.

Just installed one in my dad's PC last night. 4 year old budget desktop brought right back to life. It would be even faster if the board had SATA 3 and if i was a fresh install.

Just saying for those who don't know, but an order of magnitude is from 10^X to 10^(X+1).

Most HDD's can do 50-70 MB/s. Most SSDs can do 450-550 MB/s. So basicaly an order of magnitude bigger (aka 10x bigger).

Samsung just released an SSD with 3D NAND in it. The 1TB version is $700. .... Soon...
