iSwitch from Windows 7 to Ubuntu Linux 14.04 - 14 Days

Go to solution Solved by harrynowl,

Only made it one day eh? Or did you just forget to update the thread... xD

I did 4 days, but the problem being I kind of did this on an impulse, I intend to return to it again when I have a little more time (e.g. summer break)

So as a few people were interested in me doing an iSwitch I decided to go ahead and do it. I've only done some basic bits so far (Installation, first impressions and getting software).

DAY1:

I'll just post the PDF now as I've only done first impressions. I'll sort out a proper post when I have all the pictures uploaded.

Find my day 1 impressions here.

As you can see the UI elements don't really work, things are hidden with no scroll-wheel between. Full-screening the application did not fix the issue.

If you hover your mouse near where the scroll bar should be one will appear.

I'll have a look at that, seems a little counterintuitive though or it might just be me :P

Dang it... use this in the terminal instead of an Ubuntu one account: sudo apt-get install steam

:P

I ended up getting it from steam website instead as a .deb, I'm trying to use linux while avoiding the terminal, not because I'm scared of it (I've used ARCH before :P) but because I want to see if it's possible to have a good experience yet ;)
