So I broke another 20 dollars

As the tags suggest, this was a 140mm Phanteks fan. In fact, around 2 weeks ago, I've had an identical fan (another 140mm Phanteks in red) that met the same fate. In total contrast, I still have older Enermax Magmas and even some Lian Li fans that's been tossed around carelessly and run fine. But to fall about 5 inches and break blades..their heatsinks and cases might be top notch, but these fans...they are way too brittle. For 20 dollars a fan, I'd have expect better build quality than a pack of cheap no name fans.

Ok that sounds pretty fragile.  Do you have pics of the fans?

The hell are the blades made of? Special glass? If it's plastic, then it should have some rigidity.

40 dollars worth of Phanteks fans and both look like this pretty much. Already tossed the old one a few weeks ago and the other one just broke not too long ago.

This legit worries me a bit since I do want the Phanteks Evolv once that comes out. Since Noctua is making a 200mm fan and I already have a 140mm Noctua laying around. Might just Noctua out that case since I have bad experiences with the build quality on Phanteks fans.

 

What did you expect? Rainbows and unicorns to appear?

 

I think the point he was making is that it took actual force to break his fans while mine fell literally backwards and broke blades.

When I threw my Fractal Design fans at the floor they just bounced back up and a magical genie appeared. Plus the fans did not break :D
