Battlefield Hardline available for preorder, with a wonderful EA twist!

XTankSlayerX

Preorder on Origin:

https://www.origin.com/en-ca/store/buy/omaha/pc-download/base-game/standard-edition

Preorder on Amazon:

http://www.amazon.com/Battlefield-Hardline-Windows-select-Pc/dp/B00KME8JBQ/ref=sr_tr_sr_3?ie=UTF8&qid=1401443996&sr=8-3&keywords=Battlefield+hardline

Preorder on... be smart and don't preorder :)

You might have heard that the Battlefield: Hardline trailer leaked earlier this week, but was quickly pulled down by EA. However, I managed to watch it several times and dig out all the details and some screen grabs before that happened. Get everything you need to know through the link.

Now, Battlefield: Hardline pre-orders have opened on Origin, at £49, with an attached synopsis that reads:

Battlefield Hardline is a first-person action game set against the backdrop of the war on crime and the battle between cops and criminals. Check back on June 9 at 1pm PDT for more information and videos from Battlefield Hardline.

Did EA finally lose their marbles?

They must be really sure about Hardline to have it start at 70 bucks. Hopefully this is a glitch.

Edit: For those wondering, standard edition is 70 bucks here in Canada.

It would be better if you at least quoted something, or wrote something else you think about the subject instead of just a link.

Oh wow EA. I really urge everybody to not preorder this game, at least until we have actually seen gameplay footage and stuff from E3, and I don't intend to preorder this game at all. I just don't trust EA.

I think you had the digital deluxe option selected to get the $70 price. For me it shows $59.99 for standard, $69.99 for digital deluxe, which is pretty standard.

I can assure you that it is coming on consoles, and early leaks have suggested that it's coming on PC, XB360, XB1, PS3 and PS4, so don't get your hopes up for a next gen game. And the cheapest edition is £50 in the UK which is insane. A brand new AAA game is normally £40, although of course you can get it for a lot less if you get it on other sites (Amazon can be like £25). If EA really are going to leave the Standard Edition at £50, then I really hope the game fails in terms of sales.

EDIT: £50 is over $83 USD, although that does include tax. Not that EA probably pays tax.

How heartless! With all the localizations and additional costs of associated with bringing a digital download to an English-speaking country, they need that extra money! :P

Dollar scaling (what ever you call it) has a big impact as well.

With Battlefield 4, they f***ed us up the butt only a couple of days after the release, handing out BF4 with Premuim for less than what the pre-order price was......for only a day or two, but still.

So no EA, I will never pre-order any game from you guys again. And releasing more titles of this franchise just means prices will drop earlier.

Dollar scaling (what ever you call it) has a big impact as well.

With the CAD and AUD both being roughly .9USD, it would be more like 65 standard, 75 deluxe if it were just currency scaling. They're imposing a lower population fee of roughly $5 per purchase from you guys.

Man, that's not even the half of it. Battlefield 3 still doesn't work right.

Out of interest, it is now on amazon: http://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B00KMV311W/?tag=linustechtips-21 but in the UK it says not available. All other platforms (PS3+4, XB 360+1) are there and ~£55 which I think is reasonable for a console game. Don't know though.

EDIT: US amazon has it listed: http://www.amazon.com/dp/B00KME8JBQ/?tag=linustechtips-20

Oof my head/wallet hurts.

Man, that's not even the half of it. Battlefield 3 still doesn't work right.

I still can't believe BF4 is being beta tested 6 months after release with the community test environment (which requires roughly $100 because you need to be a premium member).

Not playing that anymore.....but there is probably nobody working on it anymore.....sucks to pay so much and not get much.

I have bought both BF3 and BF4 for almost 100€.......not again.

The trailer looked good, I've never had any games from the Battlefield franchise before, therefore I don't know what to expect. It seems very diversified considering the many gamemodes you can play.

What? You are not entitled to lower prices just because you bought a PC

I agree it is a bit high, I would prefer for it to be at £39.99 like BF4 was on launch
